Anyone who picks up Ankiel is going to be getting just that a interesting player because the issue with him is consistency. He was starting to show potential that he could become a every day player, but he was never the same when he hit the wall and Rasmus took his job.

 

He's hoping that Ankiel is able to regain his form and get over the shoulder injury to become that everyday player somewhere.

the problem with the season is obvious. we needed to get more lefthanded, but bradley is a switch hitter. he's only half lefthanded.

That's very wishful thinking. He had a .720 OPS before the injury this year and hasn't looked injured. It just looks like realized how to pitch him. They're just exploiting the holes that have been there all along. An increased K rate and declining BB rate does not look good either.

I had just heard on a St. Louis radio station that Ankiel looked to be close to signing with the Cubs. I haven't seen ANYTHING online about this and wonder if they were just spouting off something they over heard from someone who heard someone else say that their cousin once said... I hope this is as untrue as they come.
