Can someone explain to me how Bradleys comments he was suspended for are worse than these of Z's? I hadnt even seen these comments made by Z, but after now seeing them, added into everything else hes said and done as a Cub, I really dont see how Z keeps getting away with what he does.

Carlos Zambrano wrote:

"I had a day off from [trainer] Mark O'Neal and I went to the park and started playing with my 9-year-old daughter," Zambrano said. "I was taking some ground balls at shortstop, part of my [workout] routine.

"It was the first time I ever played it. But now I can't even do that -- not in this city. Maybe if I go to a different city next year. ... If I get traded, I can do what I want."

But would he ever consider waiving his no-trade clause?

"Anything can happen," he said. "I'm tired of this."

"When you're doing it in this situation, they point at just one guy, or two," he said. "Sometimes it's [ Alfonso] Soriano, sometimes it's Bradley, or me."

Asked where he would want to go, Zambrano replied: "I want to get out of here."

You don't think there's an actual reason they suspended Bradley and not Zambrano? Or do you think they just did it on a whim?

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here. That Zambrano gets unjustified preferential treatment over Bradley?

My point isnt very hard to see. Z has been a childish dick since he became a Cub, and his past is pretty damn checkered, yet he can say "I want out of here", "Im tired of this", etc...and nothing happens to him. Why?

I think his point is that people are acting like Bradley eats babies from his actions in public.

Exactly. The hatred shown to Bradley is ridiculous considering the same people talking [expletive] about him, have Z as their favorite player. Z has done ALOT worse than anything Bradley has done as a Cub, and has NEVER recieved a suspension from the team. Seems kind of odd to me.

right, but i haven't seen any evidence that people are acting at all like this

This is all kinds of ridiculous.

Bradley is a prick who did this to himself why can't you accept this and stop pretending he's worth defending?

You keep asking us why that is. Why do YOU think it is?

Explain to me how anything Bradley has done is more of a dick than punching your own teammate, throwing tantrums on the field when your defense makes errors and showing him up, throwing at opposing hitters because you are pissed, getting into a verbal argument with your manager on the field, letting yourself get out of shape which landed him on the DL. Do I need to go on?

Bradley is a dick, but we have had bigger dicks on this team who have done alot more and alot worse, and have never received punishment.

Because Z has had success in the past, and the team overlooked it, because hes the "face of the Cubs". The Bradley suspension was to appease the fan base and get the attention off Hendry and the underperformance of this [expletive] team this year. Now Hendry can place the blame on chemistry and injuries as to why this team underperformed. Hell the groundwork has already been laid, and Ive seen it in a couple articles today"the Cubs are now 2-0 without Bradley" and Lou saying the clubhouse was alot more upbeat and looks like they are having fun. Give me a [expletive] break

Posted
Bradley was sent home after saying the Cubs were a negative environment and ripping the organization. Did Piniella notice a change in the team's mood since Bradley's departure?

"I think the clubhouse was nice and loose, yes," Piniella said

They're now 2-0 since Milton Bradley was issued a 15-game suspension.

The Cubs players seem to have moved on already. Several were goofing around in the clubhouse Monday, measuring Aaron Miles and Mike Fontenot to find out who is the shortest Cub.

Piniella said the clubhouse was "nice and loose."

What a crock of [expletive].

When Z came to the Cubs he was a child (16) so his behavior is not surprising.

He doesn't have a checkered past either. His past is pretty uncheckered.

Z's past most certainly is checkered. Ive listed quite a few in this thread.

No it's not, so there.

Yes, your inexplicable defense of Bradley certainly is.

:-)) , you know its bad, when the defense gets down to a "...but [add any name] gets away with it.."

Yea hate to tell you, but you arent always right like you think. Other people have opinions as well, and just because they dont agree with yours, dont make you right.

He punched out a teammate how does that give him a clean past? Thats just 1 huge thing against Z, and certainly doesnt equal a clean past

The punching was a benefit to the team, and propelled them to the playoffs.

Ahh forgot about that, and Z said "Im sorry" so all is ok

Do Zambrano's teammates not like him? Would they be happier if he were gone?

Im pretty sure that not everyone of his teammates like him and his antics, showing them up, etccc. Lets ask Michael Barret his opinion, or the countless number of OF's hes showed up.

I love how so many people that aren't racist take it personally when a player talks about racist fans.

He wasn't talking about you. He was talking about the racists.

I don't think that is it at all. I think most people see think the racism excuse is a cop out.

I don't for a second doubt that Bradley was subject to some racism.

What he said.

I must have grown up in bizarro Chicago or something. I'm not saying I never heard anything racist in my 18 years there, but I never heard the N word used so causually as I did when I moved to Texas. And even in my early days in the Chicago area it was usually an older person using the word in reference to an object or action. In Texas it's used in reference to people.

Where in Chicago did you live?

I grew up in the NW suburbs. And before it gets asked, I've lived in the Dallas suburbs here (north Dallas area and now between Dallas & Ft. Worth).

you are going to have to back that up.
