Was it scheduled for prime time 3 weeks ago when both teams were in the top 25? Doesn't seem unusual for a match up of 2 teams in the top 25 to be in the 8pm slot.

Yeah, PSU/Iowa and ND/Purdue were always the 8 pm games. PSU gets the ABC slot basically because they're the highest-ranked team of the four.

nervous about Southern Miss. They have some offensive weapons.

Well, according to some announcer (I don't remember which of the 1000 games it was on yesterday), that big Duke win for you guys was proof that Mangino has turned the program around, and you guys are a serious force this year.

Now, obviously I don't doubt that you guys are a solid team, and obviously your program has turned around over recent years (just like Mizzou), but it blew my mind that the announcer was using a win over DUKE as an example of that.

no idea why PSU/Iowa is in primetime.

Why not?

It was scheduled that way in the preseason when Iowa was ranked and PSU was top 10. They're both 3-0 now. Plus they can re-live the game they had last year like they did with Texas Tech/Texas.

It's probably the 2nd best game of the weekend.

makes me nervous. Don't need to see PSU get upset at home in primetime

yeah, that's an odd thing to stay. At least we were getting to the QB against our scrub OOC teams this year. Last year we couldnt generate a puss rush, even against our cream puffs.

i'll take the atmosphere of a home night game. i can only think of one night game we've lost at home in the last few years, ohio state in 2007, and that was with no quarterback (technically it was anthony morelli, but he was a joke).

Michigan State should be a good test to determine if Wisconsin actually is any good this year. Northern Illinois and Fresno State have looked halfway decent this season, but it's hard to get a reliable measure of how good the Badgers actually are without having them go up against Big Ten teams.

Notre Dame will beat Purdue like 65 to 42 or something insane like that. Neither team can play defense. Which is probably a good thing for our first game without Floyd.

FWIW, someone on an ND board claims to have heard via WLS radio that an NFL type told Floyd he'd be an elite NFL wideout right now. I don't doubt it. I've never seen a more fundamentally sound receiver at ND. He had surgery on his broken collarbone today and won't be back this regular season. He could return for the bowl game, but I'm not sure I even see the point of that - might as well take an extra year of eligibility, unlikely as it is that he'll use it.

BSU/Auburn is going to be really painful.

I'm not expecting much from Purdue to be honest. Elliot turns the ball over, although he does a lot of good too. That means Notre Dame will probably focus on stacking the box against Boldin. Meanwhile ND will pick apart Purdue's secondary. Allen will probably dominate too as Northern Illinois ran over us last week.

I wouldn't doubt it, Floyd is great. Potential WR class next year with Bryant, Crabtree, and Floyd is pretty good. Followed by some smaller speed guys like Jordan Shipley and Golden Tate and there are a lot of options suddenly, plus a lot more I am not even thinking of.

hey, when all the SEC fans say the Big Ten sucks this year, they'll actually be right for once

every conference sucks. seriously, the acc sucks, the pac 10 mostly sucks, the big east really sucks, the big xii has a lot of mediocre to bad teams.

i assume that the big ten will be middle of the pack as far as the bcs conferences go when all is said and done.

my point was that in the past, people said the Big Ten sucked when it didn't. This year, it really, really sucks

You don't see the point in having one of the best WRs in the country play in a bowl game? Seriously, Andy? Floyd is never going to come back for a 5th year. He's probably not going to stay for 4. So why in the world would you not use him in every single game he's healthy? If Weis doesn't use a healthy Floyd in the bowl game, he should be stoned in the public square. I'm only joking to the extent that stoning is ridiculous b/c someone gun-toting Indiana boy would shoot him dead first.

They can talk to Floyd and see if he will be turning pro despite missing most of the season. If he wants to stay and says there is chance he would stay an extra year then use the redshirt.

As for the last sentence I'm a bit confused. Indiana doesn't have that many guns compared to other states. Southern Indiana is a lot like Kentucky and the South but most of Indiana is pretty progressive and live in decent sized cities.
