If Tirico's right that's amazing. The Colts had the ball for less than 15 minutes??

GameCast says 14:53.

I'm still in complete disbelief at that final drive. I can't count the number of idiotic moves made during that drive...and they STILL win the game if Ginn figures out how to close his hands together.

And they didn't have any short field scoring drives or defense/special team scores either (their best field position on a scoring drive was their own 27 yard line). Their 27 points came on drives of 80, 48, 44, 79, and 80 yards.

I think that game was a microcosm of the differences between those two teams. Colts fans are screaming about how badly the team got outplayed tonight. But they really didn't...Miami will dominate many teams physically (and a team like the Colts most of all) but their lack of big plays hurts them badly.

It feels terrible when the other team is running down your throat, but Miami also had to settle for 4 long field goal attempts tonight, and then when they needed to come back in the last few minutes their strategy that they are built around worked against them.

Also, they played like copulating morons at the end. But yeah, that's it. Both teams played their game. Indy played their game better.

Enjoy Cowboys fans.

"We were the best team in the NFL this year"

Haha, I promise this was most Cub fans last year when the Dodgers swept the Cubs last year. :D

I'm glad this got a comment. :)

It's pretty amazing. Apparently there have been more teams losing with 200+ rushing yards so far this season, than in the last 6 seasons combined.

WTF?

A lot of bad run defenses? When both teams get 200+ rushing, one team has to lose....

That could be bs...I haven't looked at the numbers.

Well last night it was more due to Manning's quick strike ability. The Colts were putting up 7 points on long drives that took less than 1 minute. So I guess in that case it was poor pass D, and very poor tackling by the Dolphins.

I haven't checked the particulars in that Titans/Texans game though.

Andre Johnson. And Owen Daniels, Jacoby Jones and pretty much every other Texan wide receiver.

Schaub threw for 357 yards and four touchdowns and Andre Johnson had 149 yards receiving. The Texans only had 63 yards rushing, but our secondary couldn't begin to slow down the passing game.

A brief look at the box score shows that the Texans actually owned the time of possession edge in that game too, which is very unlike what happened last night.

Yeah, both teams had big plays, but the Texans routinely drove down the field with 10-15 yard passes. Three of the Titans' scores were 50-90 yard Chris Johnson runs.

Don't see many 9 minute TD drives.

That was very impressive by Miami. The Colts need Bob Sanders.

All that effort and bang, Colts are almost to the red zone in 30 seconds.

Haha, oh the times I've seen him do that against the Titans. That's the joy of playing against Peyton.

:D You know you love it. (Actually, as a UT fan, I know you do . . . except for two games a year.)

Miami -- especially offensively -- is the prototype to beat the Colts. Power running game to eat up the clock, accurate passer to keep the chains moving in front of the Cover-2. Add in a 3-4 defense (though it's my opinion this has diminished, at least somewhat, as the Colts' Achilles' Heel) and you have a matchup nightmare. A time of possession disparity was to be expected, though obviously not to the extreme of 45-15.

As CCP said, Colts fans are discouraged, but I'm not sure how much they should be. The Wildcat is an anomaly, for one. Second, the offensive line play was very encouraging. If the line was the biggest concerning entering this season, as I thought, then last night bodes relatively well. Donald Brown and Pierre Garcon both had their moments, as well. Most importantly, there are a number of damn good teams sitting at 1-1, and even 0-2. Conversely, that depends on the assumption the (run) defense is closer to their week one performance than last night's. If last night was a better approximation of the run defense, then, well . . .

I definitely still pull for Peyton - so long as he's not playing the Titans. I'm still hoping for a realignment that separates the Titans and Colts into separate divisions so that my rooting for Peyton isn't as difficult.
