Re: 2009 Chicago Blackhawks

Man, as this offseason unfolds, am I the only one getting the feeling that this is going to be a disappointing season?

I get the feeling they aren't going to be taking a step forward, but as long as they don't take a step back, I won't be all that disappointed.

Yeah, I think another conference finals run (maybe longer than five games) is reasonable.

But Rosenbloom is, of course, stoking pessimism in the Trib today.

I assume the 3 goalie thing is going to be short-term, but what's the point?

I think the Hawks wants to cover themselves because of the jet lag that will happen when the Hawks return to the states. I suspect a week after return either backup will be gone.

I read that they are allowed an extra man for the games in Finland, so I assume one will be gone before the Red Wings game. Jet lag shouldn't really come into play. They'll be back on Sunday and don't play until Thursday night, and they'll be flying first class.

After years of enjoying the fact that Directv offers up pretty much any channel I could want, especially sports, it's weird to not have Versus available anymore because of the prices Comcast is demanding for that rather pathetic channel. But I luck out today since the game is on versus at noon here and I can watch it at the office.

I don't know who it was, but a Hawk nailed a Panther into the boards, legally, knocking off his helmet. The guy crumpled to the ground and stayed motionless for about 3 seconds before realizing they weren't going to call a penalty, then he got up and got back in the action. It was #85 I think.
