That shootout was fun, given the outcome.

 

We know Huet runs very hot or below average with no in between. So far we're getting the below average. I'm willing to give him 20 games or so before getting completely Cyno-type irate. If he doesn't have at least one stretch in there where he steals a couple games, we'll need to be looking for a goaltender at the deadline.

 

The problem is that when he's at his typical below average, he will not make the huge save. You saw it in the shootout. He was absolutely embarassed. On all but one of the stops, the Colorado player either deked way too much or shot it right into his pads.

 

Aside from the goaltending, I have to give Sopel credit. He still looks out of sync out there at times, but he played a very solid game last night. Barker too. It's too bad there is no room for Eager out there right now. The team seems to feed off his energy out there.

I watched the first 4 minutes and then went to play some Madden and then came back to see them losing 5-0 in the first period?!?!!?! Is Huet drunk or something? I hope this is just a strange aberration in a long season or not the end of a season long struggle from Huet.
