Who was that guy throwing to? There were three defenders between the QB and WR?

 

And why the hell does Navy call a pass play to try to tie the game?

No you idiot, going for 1 now is not the smart move. You need to get the 2 at some point. You go for it now, and know what you're up against.

 

Knowing that you need 2 scores with 6 minutes compared to playing for 1 score.

 

Um, they are still only down 1 score.

 

You're not understanding. You want score certainty.

 

If you're going to need the 2 point to tie, you go for it now, then you know what you're playing against if you miss it. If you go for 1 then you're operating under the assumption that it's a 1 possession game, then when you miss the 2, it's too late to make up those missed points. If you go for 2 with 6 minutes left and miss you know that you need to score twice in 6 minutes to tie/win.

Oh my....so if one of Iowa's guys had touched the ball instead of backing away from it, it would have been Iowa's ball correct? What a bonehead move. I had no idea what the rules were...I don't think they did either.

I don't get it...what harm could have Iowa have had if they had touched the ball, regardless of it was before or after the line of scrimmage?
