I don't expect everyone to be positive in this thread, but chins up guys. Baseball is a beautiful sport, and if you can't enjoy it because your favorite team is an epic failure, I feel bad for you. There will be cold days in January where you wish you could watch just one baseball game, and as much as you want to, you can't. So watch and enjoy this game, win or lose because some time in the near future, it won't be available to you.

What the hell am I talking about? I'm drunk.

Cliff Lee pitches for the Phillies. The Cubs got 3 runs in 7 IP off him when he was still on the Indians in June. If you recall, that was the game the Cubs made a big comeback capped off by Lee's HR off Wood in the 9th to tie it, and (I think) a Soriano single to win it.

Demp pitches for the Cubs, and he's probably been our best pitcher over the last 2 weeks give or take (Harden has his moments though).

This feels like one of those games where the Cubs somehow get a weeks worth of hits with RISPs and everyone feels warm and fuzzy until Kevin Hart or someone shuts down the Cubs the next day.

They have the better pitcher, they have the better offense, but hey, who the hell knows. A win today would be nothing more than a pleasant surprise before we start getting excited again about beating up on the Pirates and Padres before the Dodgers take us back to reality once again.

There will be cold days in January where you wish you could watch just one baseball game, and as much as you want to, you can't. There will be cold days in January where you wish you could watch just one baseball game, and as much as you want to, you can't. So watch and enjoy this game, win or lose because some time in the near future, it won't be available to you.

I'm sure I could catch a classic game on MLB Network sometime in January. ;)

Who cares. The Bears will be storming their way to the Super Bowl, so the epic fail that was the 2009 Cubs will be out of sight and out of mind.

The number of Cubs-Packers fans in this world is crazy. Although I can't really talk about odd combinations of favorite teams since I'm an Orlando Magic and Tampa Bay Lightning fan in addition to the Cubs and Bears lol.

I actually dont mind it like this. Theriot has been hot the last 7 days and has an OBP over .350, add that in with Bradley's .398 season OBP(.500) over the last week, and Fuku's .390 OBP(.500) over the last week, and we should have some guys on base for Lee, Fox, and Soriano. Our 3 hottest hitters will be getting the most at bats in the game and thats a good thing. Im just glad Lou is finally letting Fuku play vs a lefty.

I wonder how long Jeff Baker can keep his little hot streak going. Thanks to the last few games, his line in 26 games as a Cub is .309/.356/.491/.847. If he keeps it up, I say just DFA Miles and call up Blanco as a backup SS. Hell, even if he doesnt keep it up.

Cliff Lee pitches for the Phillies. The Cubs got 3 runs in 7 IP off him when he was still on the Indians in June. If you recall, that was the game the Cubs made a big comeback capped off by Lee's HR off Wood in the 9th to tie it, and (I think) a Soriano single to win it.
