TOP OF THE EIGHTH INNING

 

Heilman in to pitch for the CUBS

McGehee called out on strikes

Cameron doubled to deep left center field

Hart hit by pitch

Kendall singled to left field , Cameron scored, Hart to second

Catalanotto, pinch hitting for Narveson, popped out to third base (infield fly rule)

Counsell flied out to deep center field

 

1 runs 2 hits 0 errors 2 men left on base

That damn lack of SS range yet again.

 

I'd blame the crappy pitcher before I'd blame the lack of Theriot's range.

 

I'll take crappy pitcher inducing the ground ball as he should. It cannot be understated how bad Theriot's range is at SS.

I was hoping Patton would get the ninth, but Heilman might be ruining that.

 

Patton has come in to pitch with the lead once. His first game of the year. He wasn't pitching the 9th with anything less than a 10 run lead.

I was expecting Lou to use Shark in the 9th, but unless we get some runs here I think he will use Marmol or Gregg.

I'm pretty sure he's going to use Marmol. Cause it's a good idea to bring in the wildest pitcher in the pen with a 4 run lead.

Heilman reminds me of Farnsworth without the 100mph stuff...

 

Heilman has good stuff (mid-90's) but his location and command are crap... He'd be a good 'power' addition to a bullpen if he'd just throw strikes early...
