The guy is a first class dbag, that is all. There's a reason no one else wanted to sign him and it isn't his ability (or lack thereof this year) to hit. He's a selfish [expletive] and has rubbed everyone the wrong way throughout his career. I don't care if he's black, white, asian, or hispanic, hes a douche. Good thing we got rid of DeRosa and didn't sign Dunn to sign this guy. F him. Wonder if he'll give Hendry any of his salary after Hendry finally gets canned for wasting money on this POS.

Those are pretty strong words. You don't even know the guy. He can 'have a complex' and still be a kind and caring human being. The words you used better describe Michael Vick, or the like.

He sounds like a fricken cry baby. Grow up, play baseball, and have fun. It's so ridiculous how much of a mental midget (yes, Rex Grossman) he is. He dwells on the past too much. Everyday is something with him. I'm tired of this guy sucking it up, bringing everyone else down and then crying to the media.

If I remember correctly, he had a pretty messed up upbringing. It's not inordinate, psychology wise, for him to crave attention and support. Again, that doesn't make him a dbag, or a jerk, or anything like that. Not making excuses for the guy, I just don't like the personal venom he's receiving. Saying he sucks at baseball is fine with me though, cause man does he right now.

Oh, and shut up Soriano.

Seems to be the Jacque Jones situation all over again.

That's a horrible analogy. Jones didn't have anything like these attitude problems AND hit 27 homers his first year with the Cubs.

I wasn't talking about the production in the first year.

Makes perfect sense. This is exactly how Lou handled Z after he beat the crap out of the Gatorade machine, right?

ummm...

Exactly.

Milton is no saint and his performance this year has been frustrating to say the least, but this seems like a load of crap. Dempster and especially Zambrano had what sound like much worse dugout tantrums. Hell, Marmol capped his disaster today by tossing [expletive] around the dugout.

I agree with these thoughts. I think Bradley is being made a scapegoat quite honestly, and it was easy for Lou to hit Bradley because of his isolation in the club house. It's starting to reak like a cowardly move.

"This isn't me," Bradley told the Tribune before his confrontation with Piniella. "I've always excelled at playing baseball, and to come here and suck like I have, it's just not a good feeling. And there's really not one guy who I can sit and talk to. I've been on teams where I have guys I know, or somebody I can just vent to."

Derrek Lee has a locker next to Bradley and they speak frequently. So why not vent to Lee?

"We just don't have that bond," he replied. "'D-Lee' is cool. He's quiet. But things change. I had a good rapport with [fired hitting coach Gerald Perry]. I trusted Gerald and I could talk to him, and he's gone. I think I clicked with [ex-Cub outfielder Joey] Gathright, and he's gone. So you just kind of feel like you're on an island, and trying to stay afloat."

this isn't 2nd grade, milton.

"When you walk around, when you look in people's eyes, you don't feel worthy," he said. "That's what I see."

what a complex on this dude

Sounds like the Cubs need to get this guy into therapy and on some Prozac.

I don't think the Cubs can afford these emotionally disturbed types on their team like maybe some other organizations could.

I wonder if the Cubs wouldn't be more successful bringing in emotionless robots. People say "I like this guy's fire on the mound" but personally I always liked Mike Mussina, he had less expression on the mound than Ben Stein.

Or J. D. Drew. J. D. Drew doesn't get shook up because J. D. Drew flat out doesn't care.

As awful as Bradley's been most of the year, Soriano has no damn room to talk. Maybe I don't want YOU around if you're not 100 percent to help the team, Fonzie, because you're sure as [expletive] not doing that right now or at any point in about the last two months.

That being said, Bradley's a complete nutcase and a total disaster of an acquisition.

He sounds kinda emo.

If people left him alone he would probably be fine. He decides earlier this year not to talk to the media so Lou and Hendry get on his case about it so starts talking again and we hear this stuff and he gets himself in trouble. He is mad he got under a ball so he throws a bat and hits the gatorade machine so Lou tells him to go home. I guarantee if he did that to Z he would have flipped out as well. Bradley has watched his team mates do it all season and Lou doesn't call them out on it so this adds to his me against the world complex. He didn't suddenly forget to hit, just put him out there when healthy and leave him alone and have the media leave him alone and he would end up with acceptable numbers at the end of the season (though admittedly down from what was expected due to the bad start). But instead it seems like most people (especially the media) can't keep from stirring the pot so we keep having to hear about these comments which when they get back to him probably only make things worse. He is kind of an odd personality, but is not necessarily a bad guy. Everyone can't be happy go lucky Ryan Dempster, so it would be much better to let him be himself and play the game and stop trying to fix him.

during Lou's press conference, i got the impression that he was basically making an example out of Milton and saying he wasn't going to let the "tantrums" be common-place anymore. Lou certainly seemed to act like it wasn't a huge issue stating he'd put him in the lineup tomorrow (today). i guess the question is how Milton will react.

i don't know exactly what Milton did (or has been doing), but it seems like a bizarre way for Lou to handle it. multiple players have been throwing tantrums this season. have a meeting after the game and tell everyone you aren't going to have it anymore. don't pull the guy in the middle of the game for doing something players have been doing all season. again, maybe Milton did something to cross the line that i don't know about. just seems strange.

Soriano can eat it. wtf is he talking about? the guy with the gimpy knee who's hitting .220 with a sub .290 OBP should probably shut his hole and take a look in the mirror.

I kinda read that to mean that Sori has been playing hurt and through his injuries in order to try and help the team. Whereas Milton takes every other day off. I could see where Soriano would question Milton giving 100 percent. Even if Sori playing through the injury has hurt the team.

Where did I say he wasn't a kind human being? His family probably loves him. He's obviously not too tolerant of his teammates and, as a player, he's been a POS. F him is my opinion. I never wanted anything to do with this guy playing for MY team. He's never been a major part of a good team. He's the type of guy that says he wants the attention and to play in a major market but in reality, he'd be much more comfortable putting up a .900 OPS for a last place team with no fans or people that really care to follow him around.

I think you have a far worse complex than Milton does.

It will be interesting to see how he handles this. He may develop even more of a "I'm all alone in here" attitude and go into a shell. Maybe he'll suddenly play better because he's pissed off at everyone.

Or maybe he'll just start hitting like he's capable of and the timing will be a coincidence. But when he's sitting on a 2-0 fastball down the middle from Contreras like he got yesterday and puts that kind of swing on it, I'm not too optimistic.

I think I'll be able to sleep tonight, but thanks for the personal attack, I truly appreciate your awesome point of view.

Heh, I'm not one to buy into the whole team chemistry concept but Milton Bradley is a guy that makes you rethink that position.

Bradley's teammates have always adored him.

That is completely untrue.

Yes, a few players out of the hundreds that Milton has played with have publicly said he's a good teammate. A few. The general consensus around MLB is that Milton is a huge a-hole and isn't liked by most of his teammates.
