Given the context, I assume he meant that Theriot couldn't find the seams and therefore had to double-clutch before flipping to Blanco at 2nd.

I'm guessing that's what he means...but ears?

Hawk's got some baseball saying that either go way over my head or don't make any sense.

"Theriot couldn't find the ears on that ball."

...what?

It was just the hunger talking. Apparently, a leadoff walk ate his lunch.

And I recomend that you all go see The Hangover if you havnt already. I just thought Id throw that out there.

What did Hawk mean after Soriano's hit when he said "Folks, you saw the same thing we did" or something to the effect?

Probably the pitch that could've been called strike three on the 1-2.

Apparently, after all these years Hawk still hasnt grasped the fact that borderline pitches happen many times a game, and sometimes they go you're way and sometimes they dont.

If anyone has the audio from the Sox broadcast, I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to hear it... :)

It'll rerun again on CSN at 2 AM.

I thought he was throwing Guillen under the bus because before the AB he seemed to assume they'd walk Soriano to get to Theriot.

The amount of times Hawk calls the Sox "a good team playing bad baseball" every single broadcast is stunning. I wonder how long it's going to take for him to stop it.

The home plate umpire was extremely bad both ways today.

And yeah, that was a strike to Soriano but whatever. Linebrink was throwing straight fastballs right down the middle, so you get what you bargain for.

for a guy who's been around baseball for 1000 years, Hawk is complete shite at reading balls off the bat, too. There were at least a couple times he got all jacked when a Sox player hit the ball thinking it was a sure hit when it was an obvious can of corn.

Dude is easily the worst in the business.

Seriously, he was feeding Soriano meatballs. I couldn't believe it. The way he is right now, why on Earth would you do that in that spot?

If we can break into that juicy Cubs bullpen, even we should be able to crank out 4-5 runs.

/posted on Indians board before this weekend's series

Our pen really hasnt been that bad lately. Sure, Marmol blew yesterday, but even in those extra inning games, one of the pens was bound to give up a run eventually, and since our offense had no intention of scoring, our pen got tagged with the L.
