One of the most frustrating parts about this team is how solid the pitching, especially the starting staff, has been. Just imagine where this team would be in the standings if it could score a measly four runs a game.

It was a weird way of defending the team. He tried to say that the Cubs were not a team built for playing small ball, but it came off like he was saying the Cubs are so fundamentally unsound that they could never pull it off effectively.
