Ok, so what is the prognosis on him? He's no ace, but I went into this season thinking he didn't even belong in a big league rotation. I'm beginning to change my mind. Are you?

I would wait until teams start seeing him two or three times before I make a judgement.

How can you say that with a straight face? The guy has been lights out so far.

I'm just a little skeptical of someone who doesn't have "great" stuff. That's all.

As am I, though my opinion doesn't mean much. I'd think that as he's seen more, more advance scouts will have a better feel for how to advice the teams to approach his starts. But the fact that the BABIP against him is .324 (before tonight) has to bode well for him.

The Cubs don't deserve Randy Wells.

I truly believe if Wells was in his 3rd or 4th year instead of being a rookie, he'd beat the hell out of Gregg.

It's too bad, I sense Wells will fall to Earth, so wasting his good starts like this is doubly frustrating.

I can't see past the Cubs' current struggles. Wake me up when (or if) they decide to play good baseball again.

What are you guys talking about he is 0-2.

...with 3 nd's which iirc easily could have been wins if not for the bullpen and their kerosene tanks and matches or the bats not showing up. wells has pitched really well in 3 games and left either tied 0-0 or with a lead.

I am 100% sure he was being sarcastic. 100%.

Of EVERYTHING I have ever heard that kid say, I have actually believed about .000001% of it.

When your bullpen hates you, thats just not good enough. You need to pitch a complete game every time.

Randy Wells is a perfect example of why coaches use the expression "trust your stuff".

He throws strikes and gets ahead in the count and doesn't get himself into a bunch of situations where the hitters can just sit on his less-than-stellar stuff.
