Why? He's been around forever and they've had very limited success. I don't see anything stupid about firing a guy who has managed a 534-625, has no division wins and just 1 playoff appearance. What's so stupid about it?

I see nothing wrong with firing Hurdle, either. He's an awful mgr., and it's been reported numerous times that he didn't have much support from the players. Replacing him with Tracy is a lateral move, though...

Maybe I just haven't come across it, but I've never read or heard anything that would suggest that Hurdle didn't have the support of the players.
