Some dude named Joe Thurston tripled. Milton Bradley blows.

We have to take him over Dunn though because can you imagine how bad Dunn's defense would have been in right field?

Bradley > Dunn in every aspect besides HRs. Wait til Bradley starts hitting like he's supposed too.

Dunn is a much better player than Milton.

it took a funny bounce off the wall. he did absolutely nothing wrong, but i wouldn't expect cubswin2009 (most ironic name ever) to consider that.

What the world does Corey Patterson have to do with Rasmus. Corey not panning out is completely irrelevant to everything.

Rasmus is a highly regarded player with elite level talent. Him hitting some left handers on the Cubs shouldn't really be shocking. Its sean marshall and lilly not exactly Randy Johnson and Tom Glavine circa 1995.

I know you hate the Cards but trying to play Rasmus off as some Brian Barden type career reject is ridiculous and dumb

Will our hitters hit, though?

We have arguably a top 3 offense in the NL, by the end of the year we will be there... long season, you hit the highs and lows...

What if Soto was a one year fluke?

Sophmore slump? Pitchers figured him out? Nah... we're not even 1/4 through the season... he'll be fine... maybe not hit 20+ HRs but he'll be fine.

Fontenot might only be a part-time player. He has looked awful for quite a while now.

Never thought he was all that special from the beginning.

DLee is already in decline. He'll be better but he's not somebody who scares anyone.

I know I'll get flamed for this... but now that his wrist injury is over and his daughter's health isn't a new situation... there is no reason to have this fast of a rapid decline... I call JUICE.

What if Aramis takes a long time to come back? What if he's not the same player? Certainly not out of the question with shoulder injuries.

I've dislocated my shoulder before and it didn't affect my play after about 2-3 weeks of being back working out/doing drills... if he's out a long time that's fine... we're gonna need him into early NOVEMBER this year.

Bradley can hit but he has legit injury concerns too.

Bradley WILL hit... and yea the injury problem is always scary.

Soriano is the only guy I trust to have a good year at the plate.

Agreed that he'll have a great year, but he won't be the only one.

Because that was what he said.

I'm pretty sure he was simply commenting on the fact that Rasmus hadn't done much against lefties since he got to the bigs.

And the fact remains that the 2 pitches he's hit hard this series were both hanging curveballs, which ML hitters should hit hard.

CUBS are 19-13 when they hit at least one double.... 2-4 when they don't

Go CUBS !!

By all merits that was a triple if anyone else was running :-D

He used the Baseball America ranking as a crutch for one guy. I showed it meant crap for another.

Yeah, and all that, plus $1.69, will buy you coffee down at the Flying J.

No one was arguing Rasmus was a reject-pile type story for the Cardinals like everyone else in today's lineup except Pujols is...I was just annoyed because Rasmus was OPSing like .400 against lefties before this series.

1 run in the last 23 innings.

With Peavy pitching tomorrow they might not be scoring until Saturday.

Rasmus has a MiLB OPS of .826 against lefties FWIW.
