Vitters picks up another single; it's his third hit of the night. This puts him at a .374 avg two points behind the league leader/teammate Josh Harrison. (.376)

It's nice to see Burke keep up the hitting. Bristow went 5 for the longest outing of his season.

With the 3 hits today, Vitters now has 3 hits in 5 consecutive games.

Jackson's last 4 starts: 26 IP, 21 H, 3 ER, 8 BB, 27 K, 1.04 ERA.

Just got home from Beloit as I had to leave after 5. The HR from Vitters was on a 3-0 85 MPH FB, the wind was blowing to CF at about 10-15, but only Harrison's HR was wind-aided. The HR from Vitters was just a majestic HR. Burke and Flaherty both hit more line drive HRs.

Bristow was 90-94 (he touched 94 once) and sat around 92 for most of the night, more of a max-effort pitcher who needs to improve on secondary stuff although, his slider did get some swings and misses, it wasn't really or placed well most of the time.

If I was to rank the top 10 from the Peoria roster from what I've seen over the two games:

1)Vitters

2)Lake (despite the long swing)

3)Burke

4)Flaherty

5)Archer

6)Rundle

7)Bristow

8)Perez

9)Cabrera

10)Ridling/Harrison

mixed bag for searle - 6 H and 2 BB in 4 IP, but also 3 K's and an 8/1 GO/FO ratio. he's done for the night.

Sounds like the weather was awful. His line is a bit disappointing, but I'm guessing the rain didn't help tonight.

I cant imagine the Padres not wanting him in a trade for Peavy, if that ever happens. Hes our top pitching prospect, well top pitching prospect that wasnt given a no trade clause before hed ever pitched in a professional game.

Hrm, I'm surpised he throws harder than Archer and Cabrera.

Thanks. You didn't see Carpenter, correct?

Thanks for the personal insight/observations Ping. Question. I'm interested to see Ridling and Harrison so far down on your list. Does this have to do with ceiling, or are there other specific factors. I only ask because they have both performed well this year - especially in relation to a few players you have above them. I'm not being critical of your list, but since I haven't seen either of them in person, I was hoping you could expound a little on those two. Thanks in advance.

That's it.

They're just not as toolsy and don't project as high as the others on the list. I can see Vitters, Lake, Flaherty, and poss. Burke becoming ML regulars (while Burke has the higher ceiling, Flaherty is more likely at this point).

I definitely would have expected Harrison to be a bit higher up and for Huseby to at least make the list.

I cant believe that Burke is only 21. It seems like weve had him for eternity.

Did you see Cliff Andersen, Ping?

Darn.

I don't know that I've seen anyone project up to 4 position players at Peoria as possible big league regulars in years past. That's nice to see.

Other guy at BBF saw Huseby the other day and said he looked good, no gun but thought he looked fast, had a good breaking pitch, had good control, and two of the three hits were infield hits. So that was encouraging.

Unfortunately ping left before Beliveau went tonight. 8K/0H/4IP (2 walks). His previous outing was 3IP-6K-1H (2 walks).

This is back to the Beli I recall from last summer, huge K's, lots of walks. after a slow start, in which his stuff obviously wasn't sharp and guys were getting hits off him, he's now sitting at 29K/15BB/23IP.

Over his last 19 innings, it's 26K/14BB/11H/19IP.

they said on the radio that 4/6 of the hits were groundballs past infielders..

BUT alot of groundballs, so sinker must be back, thats exciting :D

especially in this weather.. because apparently it was raining after the bottom of the first,

just curious but shouldnt the runs on the double play error, not be earned?

parts are taken out so that the groundball hits are highlighted and also the error

Dunedin Bottom 2nd

* Kevin Ahrens singles on a ground ball to center fielder Tony Campana. Manuel Rodriguez to 3rd.

* Chris Emanuele grounds into a force out, shortstop Starlin Castro to second baseman Nate Samson. Kevin Ahrens scores. Adam Loewen scores. Jesus Gonzalez out at 2nd. Chris Emanuele advances to 1st, on throwing error by second baseman Nate Samson.

Dunedin Bottom 4th

* Jesus Gonzalez singles on a ground ball to left fielder Jonathan Wyatt.

* C. J. Ebarb singles on a ground ball to right fielder Dylan Johnston. Jesus Gonzalez to 2nd.

Dunedin Bottom 5th

* Justin Jackson singles on a ground ball to pitcher Ryan Searle.

also on another note, all of the strikeouts were looking?
