  1. Ball game in Daytona! 2013 FSL Champions!
  2. Daytona up 3-0 with 1 out and 1 on in the top of the 2nd.
  3. If they're winning in the 9th, would love to have some video of the last out.
  4. Corey Black will start. And I agree you won't see Edwards or Johnson. Especially with so many fresh arms.
  5. daytona's pitching has been nails in the postseason. (knock on wood) frank del valle gets out of a bases loaded jam in the 9th and the d-cubs win 2-0. need to win one game in port charlotte, where games 3-5 are scheduled. edit - daytona's team ERA after four postseason games: 0.00 Not just in the postseason. They are 17-2 in their last 19 games...have given up 2.5 runs per game over that stretch, and if you take out the second game of that stretch where they gave up 10, they've given up 2.1 per game. EVEN BETTER. Pretty much EVERYONE is available to go tomorrow night. Because of the PPD game last night, Corey Black is available again, along with starters Kyler Burke, Yao-Lin Wang, and every reliever except Searle and del Valle. My guess is they go back to Corey Black. Then you have Burke and Wang available if needed depending on situation. Not Available CJ Edwards (could go an inning if absolutely needed) Ryan Searle Ivan Pineryo Frank del Valle Hopefully they can get the sweep.
  6. Pineryo strikes out the side in the top of the first. Vogelbach RBI double bottom of first. This Daytona team sure has been fun to follow. Up 1-0 after 1.

  8. I didn't know exactly where to put this, but I figured all of you that hang out here on the Minor League forum would be the only ones interested. Many of you remember Cubs minor league pitcher Chris Siegfried. He is one of 25 bachelors that will appear tonight on the season premiere of the Bachelorette. He was in my brother's wedding back in 2011, and since then I have kept up with him even though he's been out of baseball. So even though none of would probably ever watch the Bachelorette, we now have a "slight" reason to at least follow it this season!
  9. Kyler Burke is the starter tonight for Daytona. Austin Kirk moved to the bullpen. They haven't updated the roster yet online, so I doubt you'll see the change reflected online pre-game.
  10. Thanks! Rotation? That is my understanding. Double header tomorrow. What does that do to the rotation? I haven't followed closely enough to know. Someone gets bumped up, down, or out I presume.
  11. Kyler Burke to Daytona in the morning. Tentatively will pitch Monday.
  12. Hello to everyone! Looking forward to a great 2013 season! Since Kyler was converted to a pitcher, I'm not on every day, but wanted to get on here and say hello. I know a few people asked why he was on AZPhils "inactive" list early in April. Just a quick update: He had a great offseason. He feels like he is in the best shape of his career. He got behind a couple weeks just before Spring Training, so it's held him up in Arizona through the end of April. He tweaked an oblique a week or so before ST. It was nothing serious, just a bit nagging. So the only way to really get rid of it was to shut him down for a couple of weeks. And of course that meant a delay in building up his pitch count....Anyways, all is well now, and seems like he'll be ready to go here shortly. I know they wanted him to have a few outings in EXST to get some innings under his belt. Hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to reading everyone's posts throughout the season!
  13. Rebel Ridling sent down from AA-Tennessee to HiA-Daytona. Kyler Burke promoted from LoA-Peoria to HiA-Daytona.
  14. Definitely not his best outing, but... He found out just before game he was pitching second. Then there was a 30 minute autograph session on the field right up until game time. To add to that, the starter struggled, being pulled after 5 batters. Kyler wasn't thrilled that he had about 10 minutes to warmup. On his way to Daytona now to join the rotation.
