The Bulls have signed back up point guard Jannero Pargo to a one-year contract worth approximately $2 million.

He'll back up Derrick Rose as well as the shooting guard position, but isn't likely to offer fantasy value.

Boozer to the Bulls deal in the works per ESPN. I heard the same rumor through RealGM but this may give it legs now that ESPN is reporting it.

Yeah I read that thread on Realgm, and all of those knuckleheads were freaking out because T2 twitted "gone" on his twitter page.

Nonetheless, I could see this happening, and if it does, I would like to see Blake or Outlaw included in the deal.

Boozer

Deng

Salmons

Rose

Bench: Miller, Pargo, Johnson, Gibson

You add a competent back up 2/3 guy and that's a potential, young 50-55 win team with decent depth.

Can we afford a third star?

Rose

Joe Johnson

Deng/Salmons

Boozer

Noah

Could potentially do something, maybe, but I don't know if we can afford a Joe Johnson after paying Booz.

I think that only works if you can get rid of Deng's contract.

Boozers contract is up at the end of the year isnt it?

Unloading Hinrich's contract and Ty Thomas for a pretty solid player with an expiring contract would be okay with me. I like Boozer and think he'd be a good fit with us. We need some muscle down low.

This would be a very good trade. If Boozer doesnt work you have plenty of money to go after Bosh next season via trade (sending away Booz's expiring contract) or through FA.

yahoo is claiming that a bulls source has said they've had no talks with the jazz and that the rumor is false. i don't really buy that though.

also the original rumoro n realgm said it would be kirk, tyrus, and a future first rounder for boozer. that's a little too much. kirk and tyrus should be able to get it done. let's keep in mind that boozer's injury history

edit: sam smith also just tweeted this

Lots of bulls boozer/bulls rumors. nothing going on

Oh yeah. If they scored Boozer and managed to score an elite player in next years FA class makes them a title contender. That would be potentially very nice.

boozer is a free agent after next season too, so they'd wouldnt be able to sign him and another big name.

I just read the ESPN article which pretty much said they could not get a FA in 2010 if they got Boozer and signed him to an extension. That sucks.

What about paying a luxury tax? Reinsdorf has said he wouldn't pay a tax if they weren't contenders.

Everything Ive seen, Reinsdorf has said he will not pay a luxury tax period, contenders or not.

I remember reading something a few yrs that Reinsdorf would pay the luxury tax, BUT only if the Bulls were contenders. I think he said it at a time when he knew the Bulls would not be good for a long time, thus not worrying about the luxury tax.

Reinsdorf is the reason why owners cannot own two franchises in two different sports, cause inevitably one of his "investments" would be ran as a "side project" (Bulls) and the other would be run with the best intentions (White Sox). This is why I thought is was mindboggling stupid that Reinsdorf would throw his hat into the ring to buy the Coyotes.

bucher is also saying it's not happening

Told this a.m. by a Bulls source that the Boozer deal wasn't happening. It's been discussed. A Por/Jazz/Det deal was, too.

Brian Hanley saying there's something to the talks.

What that means, I don't know, because even if you go by Bucher's report, there is something to them, except that it's not happening.

We'll know soon enough.

He also said that Kobe Bryant would be traded. So, I don't believe what these people are predicting.

Word is the Bulls are tryign to squeeze Bayless out of them if we are giving up Tyrus. If they can't snag Bayless, they want to give up Tim instead of Tyrus.

That trade was actually approved by both sides and Kobe cancelled after they were going to submit the trade to the league. Bucher is usually connected.

Maybe so, but I don't believe anybody when it comes to trade no matter how "connected" they are. Cause unless you are the GM/Owner you have no idea what is truly going on.
