Also Illinois had 4 losses to RPI 100+ while Utah State only had 2. In addition to that both lost to Utah. Illinois lost by two on neutral court while Utah State lost by one at Utah.

It's pretty obvious that Utah State has the better resume unless you want to get caught up on their only red mark which is they only played one top 25 team.

Enjoy the end of your "dream" season.

Way to be a [expletive]. Typical Illinois fan. Oh I didn't get my way so I'm going to take the low road.

EDIt: I will enjoy my dream season. Next year when all but Kramer and Grant are back.

I was wishing you luck.

Utah St's 2nd best win was [expletive] WICHITA STATE

[expletive] THIS

Come on. They are 20th in Pomeroy ratings and 31 in the RPI. They deserved to be in. They were 10-5 versus the RPI top 100. Illinois was 6-10.

Did Utah State play a lot of top 25 teams? No. They did play a decent schedule. They played a lot of good teams but few great teams. Their strength of schedule is 100 which isn't good but not bad either.

Never mention RPI in my presence again. They have 2 wins against tournament teams all year. A 7 seed and a (hilariously overseeded) 12 seed. Illinois had 6 of those wins. 3 against 4s, a 5, a 7, and a 13 To go with that, Utah St had worse losses than Illinois

RPI is terrible if only 2 of Long Beach St., Northeastern, Utah, New Mexico St. TWICE, and Louisiana Tech are at 100+. They beat BYU, and lost to St. Mary's. Those were their only games against teams with a chance at an at large. Their resume doesn't touch Illinois with all their quality wins.

Hey now, his team had Robbie Humell on it. That makes him a basketball expert.

He also roots for a team that is among the top 2 historically best teams in the Big Ten's history.

Dookie V is, not shockingly, whining on Va Tech's behalf.

When did you start hating the ACC so much?

I don't hate the ACC. I think they were weak this year and Va Tech shouldn't have been in. I'm not alone (obviously).

I'm aware. I think it's them and Iowa, but whatever.

I seem to recall you saying that only 5 teams in the ACC deserved a bid. Also, you were begging to get Duke and complaining that they were ahead of Syracuse and West Virginia, when Duke is number 1 in Pomeroy's and Sagarin's predictor rankings.

EDIT: Also, the ACC is #1 is Pomeroy's conference rankings and #3 and Sagarin's.

Out of the ones though I would want them as well.

Vitale just went on one of the dumbest rants I've ever heard.

Details?

He just went on a similar rant again. Basically boiled down VT should be in over Wake Forest because they had one more win in conference and beat them head to head.

Bobby Knight is so damn awesome. It looks like he cares more about his swivel chair.

So Illinois fans, a legit question. Is the seat getting hot now?

They need to be a lock next year. There are absolutely no excuses for next season.

Yeah, I am pretty much relegated to thinking he has to get in next year or he has to go.

He should absolutely be gone if we miss the tourney next year. I'm not really worried about that.

And really I don't understand why even a Duke fan wouldn't get that. Kansas has Aldrich and ND would have had no answer for him whatsoever. Kentucky is super-athletic - beatable but incredibly talented. Duke is a team with Zoubek, who while tough is no Aldrich, and they aren't going to run you off the court athletically. It's perfectly reasonable.

And the ACC had 5 good teams this year - if you consider Wake a good team. GaTech managed to get a good win over Maryland in the ACC tourney otherwise they'd have been out, if you ask me.

Dang it. I don't know who to pick between Kansas and Ohio State. Whoever wins is my champion, I think. I have OSU down for now.

So basically you guys want Illinois to crawl into the tournament while Weber continues to poison the well? The guy is a garbage coach.

They're going to be middling at best until the right hire is made.

If McCamey comes back they're going to contend for the Big Ten title next year.

This is moronic. He took a team with Chester Frazier as a point guard to a five seed.

As an outsider, I am starting to wonder myself. The big argument against him is that his best teams in his tenure weren't his guys. I've been hearing about all the awesome recruiting classes Illinois was getting and I have yet to see the results. I know next year you are supposed to be getting a good class coming in so I'd probably reserve judgement for at least a season or two.

If McCamey comes back, they're going to be very good next year. If McCamey comes back and Mike Davis goes on some anti-depressants or something, they're going to be even better.

Just the depth alone next year is going to be outstanding. They'll have inside players of Tisdale, Davis, Griffey, Leonard. They'll have McCamey, DJ, Richmond, Bertrand, Head (if not redshirt) competing for playing time in the backcourt / wing. That's nine deep. Assuming Cole still gets a bit of time, they'll be ten deep. They'll be able to go big/small to create mismatches against most teams.

I think they'll be one of the top 10-15 teams next year if McCamey is back. Perhaps better depending on how advanced the freshmen are and how much Paul & DJ develop.
