It's finally here, Hawks-Tigers tonight at Scottrade Center. Only bummer is we have to sit through the Louisville-Arkansas game first. Which we have to because we're going with two Hogs fans.

Have fun! Bring home a W.

ETA: I think Brad Beal will be in attendance. Hope he likes what he sees.

Yeah kusports.com said he would be there.

With all the b.s. surrounding Mangino right now, it sure is nice that basketball is up and running.

KU football is about to regress to it's terry Allen days. Hoops needs to put together a dynamite season to anesthetize me

Yay for the Big East remaining undefeated after Georgetown rallies to beat Temple.

But, they scored in the 40s thus the whole Big East sucks. Or will that not apply this year?

Georgetown runs the Princeton offense and almost never gets more than the low 70s.

They're also young and not that good (yet).

A lot of that apllied to us last year and it didn't stop us from getting the whole conference branded.

The Big Ten was the slowest big 6 conference last year by a wide margin. Not a single team in the conference played at even an average pace.

This year, at least, Indiana is stressing a pace push.

I don't care about pace. I don't like hearing how that pace means we play poor basketball. You don't have to score 85 plus to have a good basketball team.

No, but media are actually starting to come around on per-possession stats. You'll still get the majority of pundits seeing a 46-45 game and automatically assume poor offense/stellar defense/combination of the two, but despite the poor pace of the Big Ten last year (MSU at 162nd was the fastest team), there were some efficient offenses in the conference (MSU was 20th overall in adjusted offensive efficiency). Oddly enough, there were 7 Big Ten teams among the top 54 in offensive efficiency, while only 5 were in that range defensively.

Lot of early layups for NIU. Defense isn't there yet for the Illini, but they still have a couple games to get it all figured out.

How refreshing to be in the double bonus 10 minutes in.

Either it's the new freshmen, or the team was really, really embarrassed by those PSU performances last year.

Having multiple guards who can penetrate gets everyone fouled. Themselves, obviously, along with the bigs when you dish to them after the help comes. We haven't had the ability to penetrate since '04-'05

that's what she said.

I'm loving McCamey's vision and passes.

In the "are we sure that's not a women's score?" division, Tennessee leads UNC-Asheville 101-32 midway through the second half.

I was trying to figure it out what was different when we started building this lead. I hate to sound like Sulley but I think it was ever since Tisdale was put on the bench that Illinois started looking better.

Tisdale has looked less than good tonight.
