With both Ramirez and Bradley out, this team is in big trouble.

You mean for the fraction of the season that Ramirez will probably be out

I intended if both Ramirez and Brasdley have to miss any amount of time. Bradley really needs to take some DL time if hes going to get better.

Well that's not going to happen since he PH tonight and again reset his DL timeline.

This-

Both will be examined Saturday. Marmol scoffed at the notion of going on the disabled list. Ramirez wasn't too positive.

Ramirez felt some discomfort in his left leg after he doubled leading off the second. He stayed in the game, but had to come out in the fifth with a strained left calf.

"We'll see how it feels [saturday]," Ramirez said. "Right now, it doesn't feel too good."

Combined with this-

"We've got no bench," Piniella said. "We've got an extra catcher [in Koyie Hill] and [Micah] Hoffpauir and [Joey] Gathright. We're going to have to get somebody in here."

The Cubs may have to make a roster move on Saturday. It would be tough to try to compete with 22 players.

Make it sound like Aramis is likely headed to the DL

Just wait until Jack Bauer fails to disarm the nuke aimed at Chicago.

The whole team will die and then the Cubs will really suck.

It may even break ESPN's current top lead: "Yankees travel to Fenway to take on the Sox". On a positive note the White sox will suck too.

Having Bradley sit hurt the team's depth, but having Ramirez day to day really saps the bench. If Ramirez or Bradley does not go on the DL, the bench will look like this:

C Koyie Hill

1B/OF Micah Hoffpauir

OF Joey Gathright

P Carlos Zambrano

That's with Aaron Miles starting every day. Yikes. Someone's gotta go on the DL to bring in bench reinforcements.

Makes you long for a backup 3B and RF with some offensive ability. Too bad there were none of them available on our own roster during the offseason.

From tonight's AP game recap:

Chicago 3B Aramis Ramirez, who has a strained calf, ran before the game but couldn’t accelerate, Piniella said. Ramirez will be re-evaluated when the club returns to Chicago on Thursday. “If it’s not any better then, we’re going to have to weigh all our options,” Piniella said.

That doesn't sound encouraging.

Yeah, get Fox up. Even if you don't start him at third he can get plenty of PH oppurtunities. They need to take advantage of his hot hand/bat.

Agreed. The kid has more HRs than all the Midwest League teams except one.
