what is fontenot doing? if helton wants to go on the other side of the bag, let him know that he's doing it at his own risk.

 

Was there some sort of opportunity for Fontenot to run him over? I think Helton wins that collision every time.

 

helton's not a huge guy, and he was in awkward position, leaning over with his back to the runner. fontenot hit the brakes before he got to the bag in order to avoid any kind of collision, so it cost us a baserunner and an out, probably.

 

Helton is a huge guy in comparison to Fontenot.

 

it wasn't like he standing there with his chest puffed out, braced for impact, though. he's reaching back into foul ground, digging a throw out of the dirt from a second baseman throwing from the outfield grass.

 

i doubt fontenot would have taken the brunt of it.
