Even with the misspelling of Capitals that's not to shabby. 6 of 8. of course only 2 lower seeds won their playoff series so there was only one big surprise. I know it wont get much play but the Boston/Carolina series is going to be real good. I will give 2nd round predictions tomorrow.

Bruin over Canes in 6 going to be a great series. I like the canes coming into the playoffs and wouldnt be surprised if they do a surprising run to the Cup. I actually think this is the Eastern conference final, winner will go to the Cup finals

 

Pens over Caps in 5...get the feeling this series is going to be a dud, luckily the other 3 are going to be great. Caps were thoroughly unimpressive against the Rangers, Pens will spank them pretty badly if they play at the same level

this tends to happen when there are 8 defencemen between the 2 teams as good as Keith/Seabrook. :)

 

 

Reading some objective reaction to Browns hit on Hudler last night. Most seem to agree it was not nearly as bad as Brashear's hit. I agree with that, I think Brown was trying to do a legitimate hit that ended up being a tad late. He did elbow Hudler in the head though(which contridicts the Anaheim take). Since it happened in the middle of the first last night and the penalty and game misconduct really hampered Anaheim, I think the NHL may give 1 more game. However, since the NHL does not seem to have a consistent standard and can easily be swayed by national media coverage, I can see the suspension being more.

That Pens/Caps series finally has me jacked up for playoff hockey. The Rangers/Caps series didn't really get me going, and with me at work and focused more on the minor league team here, I didn't really pay attention to much first round hockey. I'll be watching Pens/Caps though. I'm also really, really excited for a potential Caps/Bruins series. I'm sure any of the matchups would be good, but the Bruins/Caps games this year were amazing and featured the single best game I watched all season.

Don't think it was intended to be dirty, but it was dangerous and he should get a game suspension but who knows.
