Next time you're going to sub for defense, Lou, put Fuku in RF.

Great win ... solid offense, amazing pitching by all.

Gregg wasn't exactly amazing. Not terrible by any stretch of the imagination, but not amazing.

I am amazed he did not hurt himself doing that. Off the bat I didn't think he had much of a shot at it and he ended up over running it - I have 0 worries about Bradley being the best all around right fielder we have had since the Hawk IF he stays healthy.

I don't like Lee hitting 3rd, Fukudome and Gregg are major questions for me. Gregg throws hard but it looks awfully straight and he shows the ball so early. Everyone else looked really good.

Maybe this was Milton's way of showing he was finally going to have close to a full season.

"LOOK! I will now try to injure every single part of myself and WALK AWAY."

Does Sosa suddenly not exist?

Bradley's movements defensively are far more herky jerky than I would've guessed. Hopefully with some more time he gets a little smoother.

Fukudome did not look good. Theriot and Fontenot did. Good to see Soriano with a HR, single, and no K's.

Pitching was good. Gregg wasn't pretty, but effective. Good start for Heilman as a fireman as well.

Seriously. Chemically aided or not 2001 was freaking incredible. He wasn't a horrible defender then, either.

aw man, best part of that was when the fan snapped his fingers after giving mb the brother shake.

great win. nice to see soriano hit that homer in the first. not to be all sutcliffe like, but soriano's due for an mvp type season. why not this year??

The Cardinals are way too high in the standings in that picture. :)

Meh. As long as they don't finish ahead of the Cubs, I don't give a crap where they finish.

Actually, to be completely honest, I would love to see a Cubs/Cards NLCS.

Zambrano's only struggles were at the plate, where he went 0-for-3. Piniella didn't ask him to put down a bunt with a man on in the seventh and a 3-0 lead, saying he wasn't sure if Zambrano even knew the sign.

"That would be a good quiz," Piniella said.

"I don't know the bunt sign," Zambrano said with a grin. "There is no bunt sign for me."

I remember a couple of years ago we had a thread that we kept updating with great Z quotes. If he keeps this up we might have to start a new one or find the old one.

The only thing about tonight's game that perplexed me is that Fuku got lifted when Gathright came in and not shifted to right, particularly after Milton's ankle roll earlier. I really don't think Houston scores the second run if Kosuke is in right.
