Brewers third baseman Bill Hall expects his team to pursue Padres ace Jake Peavy if available this summer. Unlike C.C. Sabathia, Peavy is more than a rental.

I hope Peavy won't waive his NTC for the Brewers.

I don't think he would, and I am not sure the Brewers would want to give up Gamel or others for him. Peavy won't have the same impact that Sabathia had and the amount of prospects they would have unloaded in two years would be massive.

Haha. Says the irrelevant guy who is more likely to be in AAA or traded to another organization long before Peavy gets traded to Milwaukee.

Bill Hall should probably focus on his own game rather than worry about what his team is doing.

Telling someone to shut up is attacking the person instead of the argument, like calling someone a loudmouth.

And not all discipline is made public. The vast majority is behind the scenes, actually.

Yet the posts including the personal attacks are left on the forum? Makes sense to me. Let's make public a threat to a guy who told someone to shut up. But, a post calling someone a "stupid expletive expletive" we will deal with in secret. That's inconsistent. Is that an attack to say that?

Most situations are unique when it comes to moderation. If you're upset with how a situation is handled, your best bet would be to privately ask a mod about it. Implying they are hypocrites and/or not doing a good enough job volunteering to help keep NSBB as good as it can be might be an avenue to avoid.

There's also a big difference between telling someone to "shut up" and saying "maybe you should just stop talking." That's no less of an attack than much of the the snarky stuff that defines this board and goes on all of the time. I think that's the inconsistancy Hosak was speaking of.

gamel would really make a lot more sense for an a.l. team.

Like I said, if someone was so inclined, they could. I didn't say I was.

well, if meph really believes that what he said is true.....

it probably is...

Not to derail this thread even further, but I don't think so. The two most likely scenarios in which the sun wouldn't rise tomorrow are if the earth is either a)obliterated or b)comes to a complete standstill on it's axis. Now I am no statistician, so I don't know how to figure the odds of either of those things happening, mostly because there are so many variables. Now the odds of dying in a MVA are about 84:1, which I am guessing are far better.

where am i?

Oh, cubbinalltheway, did you wander away again? C'mon, let's get you back to the home and have a nice, hot cup of tea.

Also, Jake Peavy.

I heard Jake believes the end of the Mayan calendar spells doom for us all, and wants to spend his remaining time in Chicago.

I hear Bill Hall interned in the front office during the offseason, so I fully expect the Brewers to end up with him.
