Anyone have the Aramis homer against the Phillies when the Cubs came back from 3 down.

Of all the images you still have from that, it's this one? Do you have sleeping hendry?

i was going for obscure as possible. sleeping hendry is definitely better, though.

For all the "old" people like me. .. .

Ryno had a pretty sexy stache in '87. I know why he had it. Do you?

More serious:

The Sandberg game -- June 23, 1984

1984 MVP

First play off appearance since '45

The week I made my first trip to Wrigley -- August 8-9, 1989. Ryno homered in 5 straight and was the NL Player of the week! (the proof is on the back of this card!)

Seriously -- 1991 is THE YEAR. Bell, Dawson, AND Sandberg!!! Oh, and Grace. Danny Jackson in the rotation! Walton, Dwith Smith. . . .Maddux, Sutcliffe. . . . . Yep, 1991 is THE YEAR!!!!

The Boys of Zimmer. They had no business winning 70 games, much less the 93 they actually did win. They had the lowest pay roll in the NL (around 11 or 12 million). That entire regular season was the definition of a "magic year." The play off stunk, but it was truly a fun ride.

.271 / 24 hr / 84 RBI in '83 and a top 10 MVP finish in 1984

And don't forget about the signing of a top-notch closer, Dave Smith.

How do you screw up such an easy call?

Shoes? Really?

It sort of makes sense in context, given what they were discussing right before Glenallen launched the small, white spheroid in the positively prodigious fashion that he did, but Chip hams it up so completely and excessively that would could have been a cool call just becomes sort of laughably bad.

No doubt. How could forget these awesome signings in the years to follow:

1992: Kal Daniels!!!!

1993: Candy Maldanado!!!!!!!

1994: Willie Wilson!!!!!

1995: Howard Johnson. I always got cracked up at Harry calling him "HoJo Johnson." I always assumed the name "hojo" took care of the last name as well as the first, but apparently Harry didn't get the memo.

Some of you guys just don't know how brutal it could be being a fan in the 80s and 90s. You got so used to the losing that you considered it a GREAT day when Sandberg or Dawson hit a homer. Outside of April - June, you really didn't care if they won or lost.

I'm in the minority that liked Chip Caray, and even I'll say that was awful. It made my ears cry.

I would much rather hear Len's voice cracking than hear Chip scream "Belted!"

I don't miss Chip one bit.

Hey, it's nice to see Arams most recent playoff contribution (10 games ago).
