I'll go ahead and ask this round as well - is there interest in a fifth round? I'm all for going on, but if people prefer stopping here and not delving further into the depths of late-round picks, then we will.

With a week and a half before the draft, we should have time for a fifth round if the interest is there.

Ok, I'll give Exile some time once again. Still a lot of spots we could go here. Offensive line, defensive line, and corner are probably the 3 that I would see as most likely.

So are we gonna do round 5?

Edit- Yes I'm interested. And as I said before, I'll pick up some teams if other people want to drop out (or perhaps if there is someone who has frequently missed).

I'm lost at this point in the draft, so go ahead and take the Broncos from here on out.

I probably would've liked TJ Lang at this point if he hadn't been picked, but not sure another offensive lineman is worthwhile here (at least to me). On the defensive line, I think either Myron Pryor or Roy Miller at DT would work with Marks already being selected for UT. The secondary I would lean towards Bruce Johnson (good KR too) or even Kevin Ellison at safety. I would love the Colts to load up on DT's, a la interior offensive linemen last year, but in real life I might expect secondary. Lean towards Miller probably; up to you of course.

Hey, my second favorite team growing up, sweet!

I have to do some research, but I'm just gonna go ahead and assume I'll be drafting defense. 3-4 scheme right?

I was waffling and then I saw this on your recommended pick:

also worked as a H-back in goaline situations

The Colts lost their DT/H-back, so might as well get another one. We know they aren't going to carry an actual H-back anytime soon. Don't worry, I didn't choose him just based on that :D

The Colts select Roy Miller, DT, Texas

Alright, I guess we'll move on to a fifth round since pretty much the only responses I've gotten have been positive. If anybody doesn't want to continue on, let me know and I'll divy up your team elsewhere.

For now, mhuber and the Seahawks are on the clock to begin the fifth round. I will PM him.

Instead of the 5th round, I say start over and do it again. There's been a lot of changes since this thing started.

We might get the first round in if we did it that way. And I don't think the first round would change dramatically.

I think it would. I can already tell you the top pick would change, and from there, any ripple effect is possible.

I'd be fine also doing the first round over.

Maybe I should start a poll. Let's see if we can get some feedback first while we wait for mhuber.

Personally, my picks won't change drastically so I'm not worried about which way we go. I'll only get one pick if we start over (no 2nd rounder), and those who are without 1st rounders might not like it too much.

Absolutely. The first pick is ridiculous, and many of the follow ups will change depending on how that pick changes. Then you have Denver with 2 picks, and the Bears with none. I say start fresh with Mock 2.0 and give people a 6-hour daytime limit and 12-hour overnight limit. You could get into the 2nd round by the time the draft actually starts, especially since excitement/attention for the draft is increasing.

Nobody knows jack squat about the 5th round.

They aren't having anything taken away from them. A new 1st/2nd round mock is just much more interesting than a 5th round at this point. If you want, keep going with the 5th and start a new one as well. I see no reason why not. I'm not asking to delete everybody's posts on this topic so far. Just start a new one.

I do, but I'm a ridiculous fanatic who isn't comparable to the real world when it comes to the draft. I'm already pondering the Titans' 7th rounder, for instance.

I don't have a strong preference either way. I realize that there will be some changes (with a do-over I wouldn't take Ziggy Hood again, for instance), but it may well only amount to a few picks swapping.

Again, let's get some feedback and I may really do a poll for it.

Even if people say they want to pick the same guy, there's no guarantee he will be there.

I don't see the point of a poll. If you get 20 for and 25 against, does that justify not doing another one? I'd be surprised if people didn't enjoy doing it again. There's no reason why you can't keep this one going if you want, but a new first would be in addition, not a replacement.

I would have no problem doing a reboot of the first round or two. I'm just pulling names off of ranking sheets right now this deep into the draft and so it doesn't provide that much value.

Plus I do agree that the first round would change significantly if done again. It's the ripple effect..2 or 3 picks change and suddenly everything changes because most teams can't just take BPA.

yep, 3-4 defense with very little talent. so far, i've gone lb, de, qb, s.

Alright then, works for me. We shall begin anew with round 1, but leave up the previous four rounds for the heck of it.

I'll get the new round 1 draft order together and I suppose Cro Magnon is on the clock. We'll use goony's recommendation of 6-hour daytime limit (I'd say 8 am to 11 pm) and 12-hour overnight limit.

I'll PM Cro Magnon.

Ok, I've got the new first round up and going and have placed a note at the top of the first post in the thread. It reads: NOTE: Due to the changes in the first round of the draft, we've chosen to do a second version of the mock draft with the updated draft status. The originally completed four rounds will remain in spoiler tags and the new rounds will be labeled as Mock 2.0.

Let's see if we can get a couple rounds knocked out before next Saturday.
