Dear lord, was anyone listening to the Score this morning??

Cooper (Sox PC) was lambasting the hosts for inferring that Colon should have to compete for a rotation spot. I mean he threw out every cliche there is. "Colon is an established starter. Colon is a veteran. If healthy Colon is better than anyone on the staff. He's a former ace." It was mind numblingly stupid. He even threw in "We're not the Cubs, we can't go out and sign anyone we want".

Man I hate the Sox sometimes.

On a side note, on last official recording, Colon (according to the score) was 5'11, and weighed 260 pounds.

I think I mentioned this before. Don Cooper does a radio show Sunday nights at a bar in my area. He brings a couple players with him, and they get hammered after the show. One of my friends went up to Cooper to tell him I thought Gavin Floyd was overrated, and Cooper came over and talked to me for awhile. I told him that I didn't think Floyd was as good as his numbers, and that he wouldn't be able to sustain it throughout the year. He pressed me further on it, and rather than get all stat dork on him, I just said that it's not that he's bad, he just isn't an ace type like Danks.

Cooper responded, telling me Danks wasn't an ace type either. If you want an ace pitcher you need a guy like Colon.

Oh and then Boone Logan threw my friend's hat across the bar cause he asked him if he rememberred giving up a grand slam to Derrek Lee in '07. Boone then bought shots for the bar and made out with my friend who has ginormous boobs. But that last part isn't really relevant.

Ginormous boobs are always relevant.

It was an odd interview, I actually think Cooper is one of the best pitching coaches in the game and he did preface it based on health. But, the odds of his shoulder ever being close to where it was 5 years when he was originally with the Sox is almost impossible and that's where cooper was stretching as well trying to separate the payrolls of the two teams. Their payroll is up there as well, don't try and differentiate that when the team that knocked you out has a 42 mil. payroll.
