I wouldn't mind seeing a few stiff forearms to the helmet of one Bobby Wade this year. I'm still pissed about all those dropped/fumbled/missed entirely punt returns.

Still one of the worst players the Bears have had in recent years.

So everyone is making everything up. Then Hub came in to make that up because he's bitter? Even though he likes Urlacher and he, along with B&B have been giddy for months about the Cutler deal?

Then you think Wade exaggerated or made up his side of the story. Ah-huh. And it's all taken out of context and misunderstood.

Again this isn't going to hurt your team. But to act like this whole thing is made up on all ends for some unknown reason is ridiculous.

Urlacher is a meathead and widely considered pretty douchey. For the first time in his career he isn't THE star. Then you have Cutler who is a pretty brash, fairly cocky QB who wants to be the man and isn't going to back down. The entire situation is extremely believable.

You're right....the star linebacker calling the new star quarterback names is much more likely than a talk radio personality making up a story that gets someone on a message board to say "hey, listen to the score if you want the scoop". Especially because somehow, they're the only media outlet that has this scoop...

Except this story didn't originate from the Score. It originated from Bobby Wade's mouth. Sure, the Score has their own story on top of this, and to be quite honest, the idea that Cutler and Urlacher had a spat does not seem all that unlikely to me. This wouldn't be the first time (especially recently) that we've heard of players having issues with each other on this team.

Urlacher has a history of being a douche and a jerk. Why this seems so unlikely to you is beyond me. *shrug*

Like I've said a number of times. The fact that nobody but the score is reporting the confrontation is what makes it unlikely to me.

even if it did happen, urlacher was probably drunk and its nothing serious. but apparently wade not only sucks at football but he has such a boring life he has to sit around talking about what he heard urlacher say

I heard it was Hub Arkush who said there was an actual fight between Urlacher and Cutler.

The fact that the Score is throwing gas on the fire should surprise nobody. And if it was indeed Hub Arkush, it is even less surprising.

I never heard Bobby Wade claim there was a fight between Urlacher and Cutler. That part appears to have originated on the Score, unless I didn't hear all of Wade's comments (which I thought they played the entire podcast, but whatever).

Hub said that he knew nothing beyond the fact that they had a verbal argument at one point or another. It was Terry who reported his source saying that they had a confrontation in which Urlacher to be physically restrained at some point.

Terry Boers? His "sources" usually reside at an address located between his ears.

Jeff Dickerson was just on ESPN1000 and said that he spoke to two Bears offensive players yesterday and they said that they knew of no altercation between them on the practice field. Guys that were on the field at the same time.

Matt Jones has spoken with four teams

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on July 30, 2009 1:47 PM ET

Matt Jones was on pace for 1,000 receiving yards on a mediocre passing attack last season before his three-game suspension kicked in.

With that in mind, the lack of interest in Jones this offseason has been surprising.

Jones said recently, however, that his agent has spoken with the Titans, Bears, Jets, and Cowboys.

"Things are looking good," Jones told 103.7 in Little Rock. "Something probably will happen sooner rather than later. We just want it to be a good fit and somewhere where I can get in there and help a team win."

That none of the teams signed him before camp indicates that he's not exactly a priority. It seems more likely that Jones will join a team after they lose a veteran to an injury.

It's not like Jones is still on the market because of lingering complications about his probation violation. The NFL has already told Jones that he won't be suspended again, and the felony cocaine charges filed against him last year have been dropped.

The Jets are the most intriguing name on the list. The New York Daily News wrote recently that they are looking at the veteran free agent market.

After Jerricho Cotchery, the Jets have a lot of question marks and not a lot of players with a high ceiling. Signing an ascending veteran that has produced like Jones could make rookie Mark Sanchez's introduction to the league a little smoother.

Of course, if the rest of the league thought as highly of Jones' abilities as this post does, he would already have a home.

Zaidman on Score saying he talked to Maynard...

Maynard said that the Score has been pretty entertaining the last few days...

Zaidman asked him if what was being said was accurate...

Maynard said that he wouldn't say that, but it's been entertaining... also added that he was on the Giants and they were never under .500 and that he saw far worse [expletive] on the Giants between teammates back then than what's being talked about with the Bears right now.

So..........the media is blowing this out of proportion? Well colour me shocked.

lol...so pretty much what I thought. Talk radio making stories where there aren't.

I don't really think this disproves anything. Nobody is going to come out and say that there's truth to this stuff. Not in this organization.

You just pretty much have to choose who to believe.

And the coke dealers of Chicago are jumping for joy with the possibility.

a buddy of mine posted a note comparing josh hamilton and matt jones as two guys whose roads diverged... anyway, this quote was left on it... made me laugh

I like Josh Hamilton better for one simple reason....... I never saw him at the casino in Siloam Springs wearing a bedazzled Yankees 51/50, while smoking a Black and Mild.
