Marcus Harrison is a fatty.

Defensive lineman Marcus Harrison, a player the coaches believe should contend for a starting role at nose tackle, will join Tillman as inactive. Tillman is on the physically unable to perform list for the start of training camp while Harrison is on the non-football injury list after failing his physical for an unspecified reason.

The Bears want the 6-foot-3-inch, second-year player from Arkansas to get his weight down. He checked in at 323 pounds Thursday, but the coaches want him to play at 309.

god I hope I can get Bear games in the Pacific NW. this could be a fun season

There is definitely a fair share of primetime games this year and one game against Seattle. I bet you'll get a decent amount to watch.

Tight end Greg Olsen arrived at camp along with a camera crew from the NFL Network. The station followed him for the day

Corey Graham said he was surprised not to be the first-team left cornerback in place of the injured Charles Tillman but vowed to prove himself during camp. Zack Bowman got the nod with the first group.

There's a ton of twitter feeds, and of course twitter is blocked at work for me. If there's anything good posted, please repost here. :)

Cornerback Charles Tillman said his back started acting up during OTA's. He tried rehabbing it and when it didn't get better he opted for surgery.

Kaplan's is the smarmy host who points with his finger a lot and thinks Reed Johnson should be the everyday leadoff hitter playing center.

HAHA...from a Winners and Losers article about Favre....

Chicago Bears: Guess who just inched closer to the playoffs? Favre's buddy himself, Bears QB Jay Cutler.

Without Favre, the Vikings are still the defending NFC North champions. But adding him as the missing ingredient to a potential Super Bowl run likely would have relegated the Bears to aiming for a wild-card playoff berth.

Now with the Vikings still uncertain at quarterback, Bears fans can join Packers fans in rejoicing and hoping for a division crown of their own in 2009.

When Lovie was first hired they made a big deal about how the coaching staff set specific weight limits for guys based on their body mass and there would be fines and other penalties for making it. It's some sort of formula for the different positions, so they aren't going to round to the nearest 5. It was also true for coaches, back then at least.

ZZ blog.

The o-line will benefit from Cutler & Forte. If you can't block for them you simply can't play

Put this above Garza's locker. Im already getting a little iritated reading stuff about the oline and nothing about a competition at RG. Lovie mentioned he was excited about the Beekman/Omayle competition at LG, how bout RG damnit. I know its early so im not trying to get to worked up about this.

The first practice of training camp starts this afternoon but there's already been some movement.

The Bears waived linebacker Joey LaRocque, a contributor on special teams last year as a rookie. The seventh-round draft pick from Oregon State battled injury during organized team activities.

In essence, this means the Bears are likely to keep both Nick Roach and Hunter Hillenmeyer although both have fallen down the depth chart in the linebacker rotation. The Bears will need them on special teams.
