and on the topic of peter king, he literally does nothing right. it's mind-boggling. I still remember last year when he said people were comparing Felix Jones to Michael Turner. Really?

Weird. It's not like they get playoff appearances every year in Minny. Usually their fans are better than that, although I'm sure they will sell the tickets.

Still, it is pretty sad. Those tickets would have been gone in 15 seconds if the Bears won the North.

Arizona may yet be blacked out from that game if they can't move some tickets fast.

I thought once they got within a certain number the network airing the game bought the rest because of all the ad revenue they would lose.

I was wrong. Minny is still in trouble, and apparently even more trouble than the Cardinals:

I guess fans are finally saying "to heck with it" in the face of a horrible economic climate, high prices, and a team that may have made the playoffs, but has hardly inspired much enthusiasm.

Peyton has officially won the MVP. No real surprise and I think it's very well deserved.

For the third time, Manning won the award by The Associated Press, tying Favre as the only players in that elite category.

Good call by the voters.

Manning flew under the radar until the last couple weeks because the Colts started 3-4 but he was just amazing over the last few weeks.

Yeah, the only reason that team is in the playoffs is Peyton Manning.

It's a pretty weak safe pick.

should've been Paul Pierce

I can certainly understand why people would pick the Ravens over the Dolphins. One thing I don't get, though, is how people can keep calling Indianapolis and San Diego the hottest teams in football. Indy, hell yeah. The Chargers? For winning 4 straight? The Dolphins have won 5 straight and 9 out of 10. Why do they never get mentioned for being hot?

Same with the Vikings and Eagles. I keep hearing people picking the Eagles because they're hot and peaking at the right time. The week before the Cowboys game they put up 3 points in a loss to the Redskins. In the middle of November they tied the Bengals and lost 36-7 to the Ravens.

They went 4-3-1 in their last 8. The Vikings are 6-2 in that span and 7-2 since October 20th.

Pick the Eagles because you trust McNabb more than Tarvaris in a playoff game, especially against the Eagles blitzes. But stop with the nonsense about the Eagles being hot.

Who would you have gone with though? I agree, I just don't know who had a typical MVP season.

Rivers had an MVP year and the chargers without a doubt would not be in the playoffs without him. But, they were just 8-8 so I guess that's enough to keep him out. Regardless, I hope he great game tommorow even though gates and LT are banged up.

The voters are just lazy.

Yeah, that's the problem. Both the Colts and Chargers have similar talent levels and Peyton took the Colts to 12 wins, while Rivers took them to 8 wins. I give Rivers a bit more credit, though, because he had Norv Turner coaching him.

Rivers and Peterson should have been 2 and 3 (in any order) though.

I'm pretty sure he was joking.

My top three, though, would have been Peyton, Peterson and Rivers.

I just don't get why Minnesota is still not sold out yet.

I've always thought their fans were good, but this is mind boggling. I know that Minnesota in general doesn't have as many people, and I believe their local economy is not as strong as Chicago's, and they have less corporate possibilities (although they do have Target, 3M, etc), but I can't believe they can't find another 3,000 people to spend $80-160 on tickets. In Chicago, people would die to only pay $160 for a home playoff game. Maybe I've underestimated the state of Minnesota's economy or perhaps I've underestimated the avidness of their fans.

Minnesota fans are extremely fickle. Blackouts were routine before the '98 season. There was at least one home playoff game blacked out in the mid-'90's.

Childress still hasn't won over many of the casual fans. Even with Adrian they still complain about how boring our offense is (which it is at times) because we don't chuck up the deep ball to Randy and put up 30 points a game anymore.

The Vikings are still king in the state and I would say there are probably a higher percentage of "loyal" fans outside of the Metro than in the Twin Cities. With a 3:30 Sunday game on short notice, those people aren't as willing to make the trip and pay for $100 tickets. The economy is spooking everyone.

This sounds extremely painful:

San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson has a detached tendon that connects one of his adductor (groin) muscles to his pubic bone, according to team sources.

The Colts seem like a gimme today, don't they? Superior team facing an average at best team, who might be missing one of their elite players, and the Norv factor.
