The beginning of the end for the Nittany Lambs. Bring on the Oklahoma/Florida winner.

1 - 6 (after OSU loses to Texas) = another great bowl season by the most over rated football conference in the country.

PAC 10 is 5 - 0 in bowls. USC was robbed out of a championship game birth.

You know how you would have not been robbed. Beating an Oregon St. team that managed to score 3 points against Pitt.

Another year, another no championship for you. Soooooooooo sad.

Oregon State is a good, consistent program though. And they beat Pitt without the Rodgers brothers. I don't see what's such an embarrassment about losing to them.

The point is more that voice of reason is an embarrassment.

It's certainly no worse than Penn State loss in Iowa and it's better than Florida losing at home to Mississippi.

Well, Penn State beat Oregon State 45-14.

Well, then. USC is drubbing Penn State and I was wrong here.

I still don't think it's because they're a Big 10 team. It has more to do with USC is awesome when they decide to play.

Agreed, I think USC is just as good as Texas, Oklahoma, and Florida. Even though I always cheer for Big Ten teams. I am kind of glad that USC is drubbing PSU. 1st reason, help create BCS controversy. 2nd reason, help PSU fans get over their we are superior to the rest of the Big Ten attitudes, though their team has done nothing to have this attitude in the entire time they have been in the Big Ten.

Poorly. How the football team of a school that you may or may not have gone to did this season(no national title is how they did btw) has nothing to do with what kind of a buffoon you are.

LOL. What PSU fans think that? Most of us start the season assuming we're going to be 8-4 with a trip to the Alamo Bowl. We lost to Michigan 10 straight times. Who the hell are you talking about? THEE Ohio State University fans are the insufferable douchebags

If you're gonna cheat, you should get some results beyond a home game against either the 2nd place Big Ten team or the 1st place Big Ten team in a down year every single year.(That was a horribly structured sentence)

I think everyone thought USC was just as good as those three teams. I also don't think anyone thought Penn State was as good as USC; though I didn't think it would be 31-7 at halftime either.

I have no idea what Penn State fans you've met or talked to, but I've encountered no such behavior from them. Nor have I heard of any such behavior.

You don't understand how complex Oregon State's offense was back then. We're not talking slant routes here.

As a fan of none of PSU, Mich, or OSU, I find all 3 fan bases to be pretty insufferable. Yet Michigan and OSU as teams have been consistently good. PSU is probably on the same level as Iowa and Wisconsin as a team. It just seems that most of their fans havent realized it yet.

edit: maybe not you in particular but some others that I know.

Iowa in 2002, Michigan in 2003 and 2006, Illinois in 2007, Ohio State in 2008, Penn State in 2008...

The poor Big 10 just is SOOO UNLUCKY that USC keeps catching them when they're down

You're grasping at straws.

meanwhile, usc fans have penis envy of every other top-ranked team in the nation despite being the most successful program of the decade. it's pathetic.

USC has better 3rd stringers than most team's starters. I'm not going to argue with that.

The Pac 10 is 5-0 in bowls, but just 2-6 against the Mountain West Conference. Their last five games don't eliminate the entire regular season. They're not a train wreck of a conference, but they're not the Big XII, SEC or probably even the ACC this year. That being said, over the last decade, the Pac 10 probably has been the best conference. They're down for a bit now, but give them a couple years and they'll be at or near the top. Over the long haul the Pac 10 and SEC are neck and neck for top dawgs. The Big XII is a consistent number three and the ACC and Big Ten duel it out for fourth and fifth. The Big East and MWC are next. Of course, for a couple year stretch any of the six major conferences can have a good run at things.

FWIW, I entered the halftime score for the Rose Bowl game

1. 84.59 1 Oklahoma

2. 83.25 2 Florida

3. 80.73 4 Southern Cal

4. 80.53 3 Texas

5. 75.39 6 Texas Tech

6. 72.98 5 Penn State

7. 71.65 7 Utah

8. 70.45 9 Alabama

9. 70.04 10 TCU

10. 68.55 8 Ohio State

Predictor

87.50 Florida

87.32 Oklahoma

85.01 Southern Cal

82.41 Texas

New - Old

60.60 60.01 Big 12

58.14 59.69 ACC

57.63 56.47 SEC

55.08 52.97 PAC 10

54.32 55.81 Big Ten

53.82 53.30 Big East

51.17 51.13 MWC

41.97 42.56 WAC

41.82 40.70 CUSA

Maybe its just the ones that I know personally. Though most PSU fans do look down at OSU as a renegade program, when their own program has been pretty shady the last couple of years.

Agreed, I've never once met an obnoxious Penn State fan. And they bring thousands to Bloomington for the football game (IU football attendance... )

Edit: On Minnesota fans, I can tell you they love pizza, stroms and beer at Nick's.
