Wow, BCS is going to be a yawner except for the title game this year. Texas is going to destroy Ohio State, USC is going to destroy Penn State, and Alabama is going to destroy Utah. I'd be pretty surprised if any of those games were closer than two touchdowns. Oh, I forgot Cincy/VA Tech... who cares.

Bama/Texas and OSU/Utah would have been better games.

Bama/Texas would've definitely been a much better game.

MSU/Georgia: Destruction.

OSU/Texas: Annihilation.

The B10 might not win one bowl game this year. I think the Rose Bowl will be a competitive game though.

Iowa should beat South Carolina in the Outback Bowl.

Thats what I was calling for. Plus would have been nice to have a Big 12/SEC showdown. Texas can still win the AP Championship with a win too. Not that it means that much.

No mention of the UK vs. ECU Liberty Bowl yet?

ECU is the better team, hopefully UK can do better than it has of late with Hartline back at QB.

(off-subject)

Snood, the subject of Mangino came up today at a baseball showcase, one of the rumors was that he has to have a shower in his office b/c he is unable to wipe himself. Now, I don't believe it, but the person saying this (who I do respect) says this comes from a credible source.

It's actually a shower that draws from a reservoir of Chase Daniel's tears.

Two loss Ohio $tate getting a BCS bid is proof of what's wrong with college football.

Who else would you prefer? 1 loss Boise State and Ball State teams that played your high school among other terrible teams? 2 loss TCU or BYU from the Mountain West? 3 loss Georgia or Georgia Tech who couldn't win their respective divisions? 3 loss Oregon or Michigan State(who OSU beat)?

Boise State's undefeated. And yes, I'd prefer Boise over Ohio State.

so you'd prefer a team whose toughest opponent was Oregon over a team who played in the 2nd best conference in the country and lost to two current BCS teams?

Undefeated Boise State or one loss Texas Tech seem like better options. TT played a Big 12 schedule and only lost to OU (granted it wasn't pretty). Although i'm not positive, but I don't think three teams from the same conference can go to the BCS.

I just don't think Ohio State is deserving. They lost both times they went up against BCS caliber teams. But they travel well and bring in money, so here we are.

And it also says to smaller schools, "it doesn't matter if you go undefeated, you probably won't be given a fair shot."

I'm inbetween on this issue. If there was a playoff system, I'd agree all undefeated teams should be in the playoffs regardless. It's tough to win all your games no matter who you are playing. But at the same time, why should a team that plays in a weak conference and plays weak non-conference games be rewarded over a team that played in a much tougher conference and scheduled freaking USC in their non-conference slate.

Since when is the Big 10 the 2nd best conference in the country?

That's correct. Tech can't go because Texas and OU already were selected.

Now we're rewarding teams for losses? Ohio State was massacred against USC and they lost at home to Penn State. They did blow out Michigan State, but I think Oregon is right on the Michigan State level. And who's really the 2nd best conference in the country? Some are saying the SEC, Meph's now saying the ACC, and you're saying the Big Ten. That's entirely subjective.

I'd take the team that has 0 losses at this point in the season over the team with 2 losses.

Exactly what I was about to ask. Since when is a conference with 2 decent teams a top 2 conference?

I'm glad Ohio State is playing tougher teams OOC. If they weren't embarrassed by USC, I probably wouldn't have as much of a problem with them getting the final BCS bid. But they lost by 31 points. Yes they were without Beanie Wells, but there's no way he makes up close to that amount.

Boise State played an Oregon team in the Zoo that many teams probably wouldn't want to play at and they were in control throughout that game.

After the selections of Florida, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Penn State and Utah, here are the eligible teams remaining with current BCS ranking:

No. 9 Boise State (12-0)

No. 10 Ohio State (10-2)

No. 11 TCU (10-2)

No. 14 Georgia Tech (9-3)

That's it because for at-large eligibility, a team has to be ranked in the top-14 of the final BCS standings.

EDIT: And for the record, I would have preferred Boise over Ohio State but not TCU or Georgia Tech.
