I thought this "Fun Fact" that ESPN has is interesting:

 

The Lions' 0-11 record is tied for the second-worst start in team history.

 

This tells us two things:

 

1) They have had a WORSE start than 0-11 before

2) They, in addition to that, have had ANOTHER 0-11 start in their past

 

Just amazing futility in Detroit.

FREAKING Panthers defense...31-21. This makes just about every game the rest of the year (all of whom are against teams just as good or better than the Falcons) a must-win if we want to win the South.

Cutler's good, but I think there are serious questions about the rest of that team. It seems ridiculous to lose that badly to Oakland under any circumstances though.

That's the same exact thing that happened when the Bears played the Falcons. I know exactly how you feel. Infuriating. And it wasn't like 3rd and 8 or 3rd and 9s. It was like 3rd and 12, 3rd and 15's.

I wasn't watching the game, but I did see the replay on SportsCenter. It looks pretty bad, but Crowder ran away smiling and pretty cocky which makes me believe he might have antagonized Light. That doesn't make it right and Light shouldn't have lost his composure like that, but ultimately this is football and I don't see a huge problem with it.

Yeah, no kidding. Just because the guy antagonized Light does not give Light permmison to start throwing punches.

I really can't say definitively yes or no without knowing the history between the two and what had occurred throughout the game. I don't have a problem with what I saw in the replay though. It wasn't a knock-down, drag-out bar fight. A few punches were thrown and then it was over. I would rather see arguments on the field settled that way than with a cheap shot or a dirty play later on in the game. What Crowder got wasn't even that bad. The initial punch of pretty much any good OL or DL has way more power behind it than Light's punches had. So basically if Light got bored and decided that he would punch Crowder a few times for fun then I have a problem with it, but if this was a mutual disagreement that had been building up over time I have no problem with it.

I really can't believe you're trying to justify Light throwing multiple punches at a guy. Light should absolutely be suspended for that.
