on the basis that the Sooners are kicking the crap out of a team that Texas did not.

 

That being said, Texas Tech was never the second best team in the country. Just like West Virginia, Boston College, South Florida, Oregon (post Dixon injury) and a half dozen other teams were last season.

 

OU's kicking the crap out of Tech at home, though. I don't think this happens quite as badly in Lubbock.

 

Problem is that the Sooners probably beat the 'Horns in Austin. Yes, we beat them in Dallas, but we didn't out play them and our performance outside of that game isn't as impressive as theirs has been.

 

I see what you're getting at. I'll feel a lot better if it happens next week with a win over Okie State on the resume, though.

 

Oh, they're going to walk all over Okie State. Don't forget Oklahoma has non-conference wins over top 20 Texas Christian and top 20 Cincinnati in dominating fashion: 35-10 and 52-26, respectively. Texas does have the win over Missouri, though Missouri has not beaten anyone all season long. Their best win was against Illinois...who well you guys now, isn't very good.

 

Really I think it should be this:

1. Alabama

2. Florida

3. Oklahoma

4. Texas

5. Southern Cal

6. Penn State

7. Texas Tech

8. Utah

9. Ohio State

10. Georgia

i couldn't figure that out either, cause it wasn't harris that was doing most of the barking (that was clayton), and it didn't look like the undertaker or stone cold steve austin or whoever that guy is supposed to be was doing anything other than the shove. he wasnt even talking.

Ole Miss is actually a pretty dang good team now that they have someone on the sidelines who can coach.

 

Orgeron was bringing in awesome talent but made Dusty Baker look like a Hall of Famer. Now that Houston Nutt is there, the awesome talent is developing and producing.

 

Definitely hard to believe. They havent been worth a ish since Eli's last year in 2003. But they are certainly no joke this year. They beat Florida at Florida and nearly beat Bama at Bama. Houston Nutt is an outstanding coach.

 

And Nutt was fired by Arkansas just last season . . . #-o

I thought he resigned. He had an affair with some reporter up there, and wanted to get away.

 

No, that was just a suspicion. A number of things led to Nutt's exit: "chasing off" top recruits, apparent personality conflicts with said players, boring offense, bowl game failure, and then the assorted other stuff that cropped up in the aftermath.
