I don't really have a problem with Lou winning it, though the Cubs were expected to win their division. The Cubs were dominant in the regular season. *sigh*

I guess it's too easy to give the award to Manuel, other than him Lou has to be the best choice IMO

While the Phillies were a great team, they had the luxury of watching the Mets implode yet again. I don't think Manuel would be in this discussion had the reverse happened. I'm quite happy with Lou winning it.

Personally, I'm more perplexed by Joe Torre getting a first-place vote and Sveum getting a third place vote.

It's sad that Lou gets it after two straight 3-and-out playoff appearances. Especially this year's post season debacle. So what if they got 97 wins? This team has underachieved big time in the playoffs. They should take that into consideration and vote for MOY after the World Series. Edited by Mugged By Fluffy

The postseason has absolutely nothing to do with the voting.

I know. Thats why I changed my post. Lou is living proof as to why it would be nice if they waited until after the World Series to choose a winner.

He's not the first, and won't be the last to win like this.

I think the ballots have to be returned before the playoffs begin.

Yeah, I don't understand that either. This is a team that was running Skip Schumaker, Ryan Ludwick, Cesar Izturis, Aaron Miles, Todd Wellemeyer and Braden Looper out there on a regular basis. You can only expect so much from Pujols.

All Lou had to do was get the team to show up to the park on time to win his award.

Even if you changed your post your wording still implies that the voting was after the postseason. He didn't really get the award after two straight 3-and-outs. He got it before the second; it just wasn't announced until after. All of the awards are voted on before the postseason but not announced until after.

I based my ballot on how well teams outperformed their preseason PECOTA predictions, so obviously, the Astros and Twins made the top of the list.
