Stop blaming the umps! This team has crapped it's pants in every facet of the game in the playoffs the last 2 years.

When 2 runs score with 3 outs having already been made, yes, we're going to get pissed at the umps.

Get pissed at the crap offense, not the umps. There was no concrete evidence that the tag was applied before he got to the bag.

Meanwhile, Edmonds and Derosa with worm killers in the infield. This team is choking, period!

Well the ball beat him. The Cubs continue to be the only team in the majors that doesn't consistently get that call. And he was out.

The thing that sucks about this is that no one outside of us will remember how good this team was for six months if we lose this game or series. They'll just remember the crappy October games

You don't know that though. You only know the Cubs get bad calls because you watch all the Cubs games. I'm sure if you watched 162 Royals games, you could say the same thing that they're the only team in baseball that doesn't get calls to go their way either.

You are right about that, and yes, sample size, but teams that play us sure seem to get that call a lot when it's unwarranted. Most of this is hollow whining though.

And the guy with the 2.nothing ERA is getting whacked around.

No curse here, none at all.

(yeah, yeah, umps and all. He still gave up the hits).

seriously, you believe in a curse?

I believe in an organizational effect of some kind that causes the Cubs to play worse in the playoffs. Getting the wrong types of players, the field, the day games, the pressure? I don't know, but it's something.

We're up to being outscored 56-18 in the last 9 playoff games.

what were they in the 9 before that

3-6 record, I'd have to check the numbers later.

I hate Ronny Cedeno, but he needs to be our SS next year. Ryan Theriot is just plain not good at anything except hitting singles. And that is not good enough.

seconded

I dont hate the guy. hell, I dont even hate theriot. i just wanna win. i think that means cedeno.

effn-a.

As they should be. They talked all season long about how they had a "bad taste" in their mouth from last year. They said this year would be different and it's the same old chit.

The players they have, unless they can rally and win this thing have proven to be spineless when the playoffs come around.

Soriano

Lee

A-Ram

Demp

Theriot

Soto

All of these guys crapped the bed last year and nothing has changed.

that was a different curse

he's talking about the Bartman curse now i think

I'm not talking about any "curse" in a real sense. I'm simply saying that over even a short sample, it's unthinkable for a good team to be getting beat *this* badly without some sort of effect.

What a shocking waste of a 97 win season. Can't even win 1 game. Hell, the brewers running on fumes squeezed out a win.

what is that bizarre "ooo" background noise from the crowd?

Artificial noise.

yea, its not cool to be at chavez until at least the 4th

that was on the Wrigley broadcasts on TBS, too, but not quite as loud. I didn't notice it on the other playoff matches. not sure what they're doing.

You are right, my bad. Arbitrary endpoints are fun.

Let's keep going back further.
