I think we can learn a lesson from all of this.

Don't believe in anything bigger than yourself.

Don't count on things to just work out in the end.

Anything I'm missing?

Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Actually - yea. Owning a pet (cat or dog) is great for moments like this. They're pretty comforting. :(

My cat is not in friendly mode though. He picked the wrong time to be in playful/running around the house mode. :(

hell yeahhhhhhhhh

although im pretty sure they'll disappoint me too

They promise us not to worry about the center depth problems, the young kids will step it up.

Never heard that one before?

meh, i doubt they will miss robert lang too much, that guy plays with no effort or passion for 75% of the season. not to mention he makes the stupidest passes on the powerplay. lang, you are not crosby or jumbo joe. you are not spezza. hell, you are not even kane.

I'm moving to China in November and will be gone for all of next season. Thinking about this is the only thing that is making me happy. I can't take this anymore.

There should be a total and complete boycott at the convention next year. How the hell can the Cubs TRY and put a positive on that convention? "And here is your 97 win, back to back division champion, Chicago Cubs!" Of course, they wont mention the 0-6 playoff record assuming we lose tonight.

Remeber how those religious nuts had record burnings back in the day?

How about a Cubs merchandise burning?

I have some old jerseys that are due (Prior..., Patterson...)

Everyone on this tema making over $2 million should chip in and give some money to Marmol. $430k/year guy is outperforming them all.

why blame the cubs franchise? was it their fault that sianis wasn't let in? was it their fault that i purchased anew cubs hat after game 4 of the 2003 nlcs, which apparently intensified the curse---now, we can't even win a playoff game. 9 straight losses and counting since buying the hat.

I dont believe in curses. I believe in fate. I believe in the yin and the yang. I believe that for every action ther's an equal and opposite reaction.

For example, for every hitler there's a gahndi. For every rainy day, there's a sunny one. For every winning baseball club, there's gotta be a loser.

Just so happens it's always our team.

No curses, no hexes, just fate, and there's nothing we can do about it.

yeah that worries me. I didn't think Lang was such a bad player really, I don't really think they should have traded him with the depth issues we have.

Maybe, maybe not, but I think you get my overall point.

It wouldn't bother me so much if it was a new problem. But it's like Wood/Prior '05. I'm just tired of hearing the *same* plan every year.
