you cut up and burned a t-shirt because it had the name of a bad baseball player on it?

fth?

yes i did...it is called personal superstition...

what does fth mean?

when we were having our craptastic september slump...i burned two hats and another shirt...and they started winning...i burned the last piece of that fukudome shirt last night before the game...it was the front cubbie bear that was attached to my backpack...

i guess my burning luck has run out or it just doesn't work in the playoffs

Or the baseball gods are demanding more. Anyone have a goat we can sacrifice?

It's "baseball gods" escalation. It's like when drug users stop getting a high from one drug, and have to move on to something heavier

The "baseball gods" are requiring more and more of a sacrifice. If a baseball stadium burns near anabiono, we know why.

If it's Wrigley, we might just find a way out of this mess.

i read on mlbtraderumors that Towers says 3 prayers of thanks every night that we had more money than the Padres did

SD offered Fukudome more money than we did.

Then it was just meant to be, I guess.

I love this post.

I think there's a decent chance Fukudome goes back to Japan, if he has the option to do so. I'm sure this year has been humiliating for him, and I'm sure Lou doesn't want him in the team's plans for next year.

And rightfully so.

This is an awful idea.

Depends on if the Cubs have to pay him when he goes back to Japan. If not, I don't see how it's an awful idea.
