Hello everyone,

I work for a museum on the east coast, and recently when going through our archives we found the following image. I attempted to figure out who it might be based on the uniform style, but had no luck. So I'm hoping someone here might be able to tell me who this player is.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Heres a pic of 3 Finger Brown. Looks like it could be him. Not sure though.

Not finding a match there

2008 and 2006? I don't see Geo or Aramis in either of those pics.

Doesn't really look like Grimm. Dude in the picture looks old enough to be a manager though, which Grimm did in the mid '30's.

I can't tell. Maybe it's Babe Herman.

The uniform is definitely from '27-'36 era. I'm horrible at looking for photos, so that's the best I have to offer at this time. OMC can probably use his resources to pinpoint the actual player.

The 2006 team only won like 32 games. No way Geo played on that team. But seriously, he didn't. Debuted in September of last year, candidate for ROY this year. 2006 was a Barrett year.

Actually, Soto debuted in 05.

Soto did play on the 2006 team in September. I'm not sure it was the same guy though..because whoever was using his name looked absolutely clueless at the plate. A lot of swinging bunts, weak ground balls, and strikeouts in his very limited number of at-bats. He had a .471 OPS (over only 25 at-bats) and that was because he got lucky with his BABIP. Thankfully we never saw that version of Geo Soto again.

my first reaction was that its gabby, but hartnett was a right handed catcher. it's definitely not babe herman or charlie grimm. im at a lunch meting right now, so when i get back i can investigate further. it is def late 20's early 30's.

I know, stupid error. we all know that Micah Hoffpauir was the only one in the Cubs system back when that photo was taken.
