Just speculating here, but NY media are in full meltdown mode now over the Mets, and a lot of speculation has them looking to move either Reyes or Wright. Assuming they move Reyes, would they want Ronny Cedeno? And if so, is there anyone they have that we'd covet? I'm not sold on Reyes, as I see him play a lot and I think he is kind of a meathead. A talented one, yes, but a meathead.

But who might interest the Cubs if we offer them Ronny?

That would be funny if they were actually that stupid to trade him. They could have pretty much anyone they'd want on the team not named Soto

I really, really want Hendry to sell high with Theriot this offseason

Sell Theriot high, and sign Renteria for cheap.

No thank you. I much rather switch Theriot and Cedeno's roles on the team, instead of signing the one possible SS who has a worse range then Theriot. If there is even the slgihtest possibility that Reyes could be availabe and Minaya is stupid enough to trade him, I would make a hard charge after Reyes. If not, make a run after Furcal after destroying the Dodgers in the NLDS...

Marmol, Theriot and Samardjia for Reyes-I really dont see such a thing as a possibility, but if it was, who would be for it?

Theriot, Samardjia, Vitters for Reyes maybe.

Or maybe Harden and Theriot for Niese and Reyes ;)

I wouldn't include both Marmol and Shark, it would have to be one or the other, plus say Sean Marshall and maybe a prospect, along with Theriot MIGHT work for the Mets. I doubt it, but hey you don't until you ask.

I don't see the Mets getting rid of Wright until he's in his mid 30's. That guy is gonna be the face of their franchise for a long long time.

I can see them moving Delgado. If they pick up his $12m option, they can sell high on him big time for that kind of money and the production he put up this year. He's gonna be 37 next year, and up until mid season, looked like his career could be in massive decline. His hot streak could be the last big numbers he puts up in his career, I think they'd be wise to pick up his option and move him

Reyes, I could see them moving for sure. He's due to make $5.75M in 2009. He could bring back some huge players in return for what he brings to the table at that price. They could probably get a team's #2 or #3 starter, their #1 reliever (or 2), plus a top prospect for Reyes, IMO. Their pitching is clearly their achilles heel, they need as much help as they can get, especially with Wagner out next year.

They likely won't of course, since they're always gung ho about being the best in baseball even though they clearly haven't been at all for a while now

I just want a big time SS.

I want Hanley Ramirez. Don't know if the Marlins would trade him but I'd go hard after him.

Vitters, Ceda, Theriot, Marshall,+ anyone besides Marmol and Geo.

But if Reyes is available, go all out, and do whatever it takes to get him.

I agree, sell high on Theriot. I can see a team like Giants offer one of their better prospects like their young pitcher Sosa, or the Mariners. Who knows.

If the Mets don't pick up Delgado's option, then we have to go for Reyes. Give em Lee+others.

We'd then have to get a guy like Texiera, or maybe Delgado.

If the Mets make a deal with us, they're going to want Marmol. They're biggest need is pitching, and if they were to trade as Reyes or a Beltran, it wouldnt be a salary dump, it would be to aquire some front line pitching for either the rotation or the pen. If they were to send a top of the line player, they would want 1 in return, and believe me, if they were to offer up either of those guys, teams would be lining up with better offers than Theriot and Samardzjia. They know Zambrano isnt available, and Harden has a year left under team control, so Marmol is they only guy who fits that bill.

Wait, NY media being ridiculous? Stop the presses!!! Just because some idiot calls into an AM radio show, doesn't mean Minaya is going to sell the heart of the team. PUHLEASE.

One of the smartest things that I have heard in a long time.
