Well that and smart pitching/taking advantage of the Cubs. When he was getting hammered early the announcers were talking about how he couldn't keep challenging the hitters and would have to try to get guys to chase pitches out of the zone. That's what he started doing in the 3rd inning and he got 4 straight outs on Soriano/Lee/Ramirez/Hoffpauir on K's out of the zone. That's what he's been doing since and the Cubs keep chasing.

I know we're not supposed to, but it's unfortunate that a team as good as the Cubs made it appear as if Suppan is anything but garbage.

If baserunning blunders was the end all to making a playoffs, then Ryan Theriot shouldn't be on the roster. Hoffpauir pulled a brain fart, but I still prefer him over Ward in the playoffs.

I like Ward, but I feel much better with Hoff up there. I really want him on the roster instead of Ward.
