This is really working out for us if you're into the matchup thing. all these teams are going to be dead tired from having to overwork everyone to get to the playoff.

Sabathia another 108 pitches on 3 days rest. Wow. How much can he throw? Just pitch him every day.

Skimming through the pages, it looks like we're not too worried about Z?

How long does a calf strain keep someone out? Derosa will be fine if he gets a week off right?

Zambrano's line is pretty decieiving. He really didn't look that bad. Velocity was good, movement was good, and the location actually wasn't terrible. He was just barely missing and was not getting help from an atrocious umpire. He could very easily have only given up 1 or no runs.

Thanks.

Anyone have any idea about DeRo?

Not too serious? Or are we concerned?

day to day... probably could play tomorrow if these games mattered

Corey Hart on Sports Center talking about CC Sabathia going on two days rest. Why not have him go tomorrow?

Another 100+ pitches on 2 days' rest now!

At what point does CC's agent make a call? I mean -- the man has a ton of money riding on his health.

say they wind up tied.. who is likely to wind up pitching for both teams if there's a 1 game playoff?

CC is slated to pitch saturday, sunday, a 1 game playoff if needed and game 1 of the playoffs, Yovani will pitch in relief when needed.

CC does have a right hand.

Santana vs Sabathia - 1 game playoff for NL Wild Card. :D

We can only hope...

Hopefully DeRo is alright. He's a HUGE part of this club.

As heart attack inducing as the bullpen appeared, they still managed to get the job done......or the Mets just suck. It might be the latter with all the chances they blew.

The world is a much safer place to sleep in when Lee decides to use all fields.

Carlos, I agree, the ump was terrible, but you've got to get over this ridiculous behavior that you know will not win you any favors in the future.

Enjoy the good night Milwaukee, but remeber, the Cubs giveth and the Cubs taketh away.

I'm getting this uneasy feeling from the Brewers. The more they play, the worse they look, the more they remind me of the 2006 Cardinals.

Soon Dave Bush will be 2006 Jeff Weaver, leading them to improbable upset after improbable upset, and we go down in 7 to them.

Good lord it would be the worst thing in the Universe.

I better not hear any more crap from them about how the Cubs are not trying to win.

That was great. "Meaningless" game in regards to the standings, but there is definitely a lot that can be said about a come from behind victory in extra innings on the road this late in the season in a playoff atmosphere.

How great would it be if the Mets, Brewers, and Phillies all end the season in a three way tie and the Mets and Phillies have to play a one game playoff to decide the East with the loser of that game then having to play another one game playoff vs. the Brewers to decide the wild card, while we just sit at home and rest?

It's pretty comforting to know that we can earn at least a split from a likely playoff opponent with our bench. In their building. With their 1, 2, 3 pitching in the series.

Wow, you've got to be a blast at kids birthday parties.

Yeah, enjoy your 3rd birthday but remember each one proves only one thing, you're dying.

LA seems like they can pretty much cakewalk in at this point.

I'm typically far more positive, there are tons worse on this board.

I'm just getting far too many 2006 Cards vibes from this team. I'd almost rather not see them. The worse they are, the more crippled, injured and debilitated they are, the scarier they are in my mind.

ESPN announcers (not the most credible source) seem to think the game tomorrow may not be played b/c of rain. That would almost guarantee that it has to be made up at some point.

I think for the sake of travel they should move the Cubs/Mets makeup game to Milwaukee and the Brewers/Mets tiebreaker on Tuesday should be moved to Milwaukee so Bud can just keep favoring the Cubs and Brewers.

Of course I'm only kidding.

Pat Hughes mentioned it as well on the radio.
