It doesn't matter what the Cubs do anymore standings-wise, as HFA is all wrapped up, so it'd be interesting to follow some of the other games around the league.

Obviously the Brewers game (along with ours) will have a big impact on the NL wild card race. Another huge game is the White Sox at Twins. The ChiSox are 2.5 games up in the AL Central, and this is the start of a 3 game series.

As much as I hate the White Sox, I really kind of want them to make the playoffs. I'm not gonna lie a possible Cubs/White Sox World Series would be really, really cool.

Seconded, Cubs win in 6.

Anyone think the Cubs first round opponent is immaterial? That is, their most difficult task is going to be winning the first series, if they clear this hurdle, the WS will be Cub Blue.

Not me. I want thost jerks watching the playoffs at home. With that said, it would surprise no one if the White Sox are swept by the Twins, which I expect.

Twins killing the White Sox (twins will sweep this series)

Brewers still losing to the Pirates.

And the Yankees are officially out of contention for a playoff spot for the first time since the end of the 1993 season

This just in-Major League baseball has banned the Rays from postseason play so the Yankees can have postseason play the last year of Yankee Stadium.

I'm in complete agreement. We're not losing in the NLCS. We could lose or win either of the other rounds, but if we get to the NLCS we're winning it. We're better than any other NL team, but that might be negated by a 5 game series. It's more likely to show in a 7 game series. And I'd say we're evenly matched with the AL's best.

I was kinda hoping that the Yankees could win their last 6 and the Red Sox lose their last 6 so they could play a 1 game playoff at Yankee Stadium

Manny with a 2-RBI double, Nomar with a 3-run HR and the Dodgers are up 5-0 in the bottom of the 1st with no outs. St. Louis up 7-4 on Arizona in the 8th.

Brewers up 4-3 in the 7th on a Mike Cameron 2-RBI double.

LOL @ the Brewers being unable to beat the Pirates.

BTW, Gallardo is starting on Thursday apparently.

I don't really want to wish injuries on somebody, but I sort of hope he rushed his recovery and then hurts his chances for coming back next year

He's teh one guy that'll make the loss of Sheets and Sabathia feel better

If the Brewers lose another game of ground tomorrow(unlikely), and still start Gallardo on Thursday, they should be prosecuted.

They went all in this season, why not? (I know.......)

They just tied it up BTW, on a Kendall double

Am I the only person who would be okay facing the Metsrather than the Dodgers? It seems that it could turn out that everyone roots for us to play the team from the terrible NL west, then we get swept. Not as scared of the Mets.
