While this game means noithing to the Cubs, it means a lot to the Mets, Brewers, and possibly Jason Marquis. Judging by his recent performances, he deserves a spot on the PO roster. If he can beat the Mets, theres no reason he shouldnt be given a spot, especially if hes competing with the likes of Samardzjia, Wuertz, and Howry.

seriously, what is up with the kosuke being left off of the playoff roster vibe around here?

not everybody on a championship team has to be tearing the cover off the ball...actually...it is usually the guys who aren't that end up being the difference makers in the playoffs...or do you guys so quickly forget augie?

Kosukes bat may not have been an asset lately, but hes still better all around than Hoffpauir or Ward. He may not start depending on how he does this next week, but he'll be there.

I believe the Cubs will manage a split while the Brewers sweep the Pirates, leaving the Brewers and Mets (at least) tied. For those pushing for a wild card playoff I think this is the most favorable result although, I wouldn't mind seeing the predominately Iowa Cubs take 3 of 4 - payback for 2004.

Actually, Soto would be the regular I expect to see getting the most rest this week, considering the sore hand and the fact that he's a catcher that's been behind the plate a lot this year.

After that, probably Lee, DeRosa and Theriot, getting 2-3 days of rest.

I expect starters will pitch on schedule, with a 75-90 pitch limit (so, like an average Harden start), perhaps letting Marshall/Samardzija/Wells pitch a start sometime this week to give everyone an extra day of rest.
