f you wanted to do the best matchups against teams, you'd probably go Marquis (or Dempster) tomorrow, Lilly Monday, Z Tuesday, Dempster (or Marquis) Wednesday, Harden Thursday. I would definitely pitch Lilly on Monday whichever ways the others go though. He shouldn't be anywhere near the Brewers series with the Cubs having the ability to dictate the rotation like this.

Lou's already said he wants Z out there and soon. He'll go either tomorrow or Monday, count on it.

Hopefully tomorrow so we get him for the 3rd game of the Brewer series

For Z to pitch tomorrow (Sunday) and the 3rd game of the Brewer series (Thursday) you would need to throw him on three days rest, and I'm not sure why you would want to do that.

OMG! This is shameful! Bud Selig should be fired immediately! Drayton McLain is a selfish jerk!

Huh? What? You say that the games are scheduled for Sunday and Monday and the first 20 pages of this thread are filled with a bunch of hysterical, petulant whiners? Shocking.

Huh? What? You say that they could have just decided this two or three days ago because pretty much everyone knew Ike was going to drill Houston and in all likelihood the city wasn't going to be in any condition to host a couple of baseball games today and Monday, and that you don't know what the heck you are talking about? Shocking.

Anyone else think MLB is going to deny WGN the right to show the game?

Think about it...

more fans would rather watch Astros/Cubs at Miller Park, than Tigers/White Sox

and WGN is a nationwide station

I bet MLB denies it... Howry

So, the options for tv tonight are:

1) Black out everything, including mlb.tv

2) No tv, mlb.tv and radio only

3) Let them show game on WGN Chicago and mlb.tv

4) Let them show game on WGN America and mlb.tv

I doubt they would black out mlb.tv, but I won't be surprised at all if we get no tv or the game is on only in Chicago. I understand ESPN not wanting 90% of their audience watching WGN. Just hoe they leave mlb.tv alone.

Hasn't it aready been announced on WGN TV? What am I missing?

I haven't read or seen that anywhere. The last we had in this thread was the blog entry from WGN saying they were waiting on word from MLB and ESPN. I sure hope you're right...

Please explain how anyone whatsoever has been prejudiced by this decision or its timing. I'll wait for your response.

(Obviously, impatient message board posters who think they have a right to know exactly what's going to happen immediately think they've been prejudiced. They haven't been.)

Thanks. I hadn't seen that blog. I just saw the Cubs MLB website which showed it as WGN TV.

I dont know if anyone else is going to this game but I was surprised they are charging full prices. Given that they have little to no time in planning this thing. I actually called the brewer ticket office and they said this is an astros home game so they determined the prices? When the Indians/Angels played at Miller Park it was $10 sit anywhere you want.

I just got 1 for tomorrow and it was full price behind home plate for $60 which was disappointing....but then again, its better than a day at work

People wanted to know what was going on and it was completely ridiculous that MLB had not announced anything and completely catered to what the Astros wanted. If there were three months left in the season, I'd understand - especially considering the Cubs and Astros are division opponents. But there's 2 weeks left now and there's not exactly time to wait and hope. Also, the Cubs could have been and could still be inconvenienced because they could have had to play a couple games at the end of the season and there is one still scheduled if necessary. And it's likely that game isn't going to matter at all to the Cubs so now, if that game gets played, the other team that the Astros are trying to tie or move ahead of is inconvenienced because the Cubs are going to throw a bunch of AAA guys out there - something the Cubs won't do in the next couple days. And it's dumb that the Cubs may have to finish up in Milwaukee on Sunday, fly to Houston for a game on Monday and then fly back to Chicago for a game on Wednesday (or so we hope).

The NFL announced they were moving the Texans game on Friday, I believe. Then early yesterday, they had already a) figured out they weren't going to be able to play and postponed the game and b) moved another game around (Texans-Bengals) to find a suitable makeup date for the Texans-Ravens game.

Do you really not see anything crazy about MLB not announcing anything about a Sunday day game until Saturday night? Like I said, everyone knew Houston was going to get pummeled by Ike and even if Minute Maid Park didn't sustain damage like Reliant Stadium did, there was no way Houston was going to be in any condition to host baseball games. MLB also made it harder to get games in today by waiting so long to make an announcement, although they ultimately were able to get one in today.

Sure, it ended up working out, but that doesn't change the fact that it was horrible planning from MLB and just one more thing that Bud Selig nearly botched.

I'm thinking, based on the price of the tickets and the late decision, the astros were stalling because they want the least amount of fans possible at the games in Milwaukee.

Hey, look at this, the Cubs have the home clubhouse and dugout here. I bet Drayton won't like that.

I'm told getting the visitors clubhouse was the Astros' choice after all. I guess they wanted the more "familiar" clubhouse. Homefield advantage indeed.

Bruce, if you get a chance can you find out why it took so long for them to officially postpone and move the Sunday game?

Tell them a rabid Cubs fan in Louisiana almost drove to Houston yesterday because as of 5 pm, the Astros site still said there was going to be a game... :D

It's MLB. That's why it took them so long. Game tonight is on WGN local in Chicago only. No superstation coverage. If the White Sox get rained out, ESPN will pick up the Cubs.

Damn! I went from having tickets to this game to not being able to see it at all.

The White Sox game will be played. The rain is supposed to finally stop soon, and the MLB will be desperate to get both games in today.

Son of a bitch. Is this because ESPN didn't want the Cubs on WGN nationwide, or did the Cubs not even push for that?

The Cubs had to get ESPN to agree to allow them to televise at all. So this was the best they could come up with.

Has there ever been a non-superstation WGN game?

The rain has left Chicago, so the White Sox game will not be rained out.

But they still haven't started game 1 so the ESPN game will be delayed. You guys will get to see at least 30 minutes of the Cubs game
