Coaches are in a lose-lose situation when dealing with Hester.

That's correct. Didn't the Bears have the best field position in the NFL last year? The Bears have to make other teams pay for that.

I heard that the Bears might be slotting their new LG to start b next week. That has to be an upgrade correct?

If he's really healthy, I would think he's an upgrade. Week 2 might be too soon though.

Woo.... 30 hours til the start of our 6-10 season, who's excited?

At least I can root for Hester to break his own record again. The Barry Bonds of football within a couple years, not bad.

the more i break it down, the more it looks like 4-12 to me.

Man, i miss being excited about a Bears season. But, Football season is almost fully underway! and that all i care!!!! I love Football season.. But just thinking about the Bears and there most probable 4-12, 5-11 season it hurts...

I'm getting excited for the game, but I'd be even more excited if we were playing a team we actually have a chance at beating.

sorry, SE Missouri Tech isn't on the schedule this year

No but the Falcons are :)

Bold prediction:

By the end of this season, people are going to be openly questioning how much of Hester's amazing performance in his first 2 years was due to his skill (don't worry he's the best KR/PR ever) and how much was due to an awesome, well coached special teams unit.

They looked good. I'm impressed. Now do it against someone other than Detroit :)

I wonder if the same will be said for the Bears defense, or whether Rivera knew how to coach them.

So the season starts in about 45 mins. After todays depressing Cubs loss, it sure would be nice if the Bears would come out and surprise the hell out of me. With that said Im fully expecting a loss.

Mark Bradley inactive, why am I not surprised.

Are any of them surprises? Anthony Adams seems like one

Gonna be a boring game, only reason I'm watching is for Hester. And they already said they weren't kicking to him.

They would if the Bears scored a couple TDs with that 40-yard-line field position. It seems safe to say "we won't kick to him" because it seems safe to think the Bears can't do anything about it.

*sigh*

It's time to move on, IMHO. But I think I know why the Bears aren't. They're desperate to get any of that potential from him because the WR cupboard is so bare.

Honestly, if the Bears DLine can get pressure on Manning this game could surprise some people. With Saturday out, and 2 newcomers to the line also, its not that far fetched. Biggest key is the Bears HAVE to stop the running game.

It could, but I get this feeling it won't matter as much as we hope it will. Ugoh was going to be a big problem last year too. Turned out to be alright for them.
