Bears coaching gets a lot of credit. I loved the play calling on both offense and defense last night. Babich had Manning confused all night long. I lost track of how many times I heard Manning yell "Watch 55!"

Hester's endzone play was an all or nothing moment. I know he's frustrated with them kicking away from him, but you still gotta play smart. Cute trick...don't do it again, especially since everyone has seen you do that against the Giants.

Vasher had some problems overpursuing, but the secondary managed to prevent the big play.

They mentioned last night that they are going to keep Mike Brown in pass coverage, and not have him up in the box since that's where he always gets injured. Probably a smart idea.

Forte....stud. He really highlights how horrible Benson was. Great job hitting the holes, and making something out of nothing. The cutback to the left side when the hole closed on that one play was even more impressive than the 51yd TD run to me.

Nice job O-line...didn't think you had it in you.

The bad snap was on Kreutz. I'm starting to think the snap issues with Rex the last few years are on Olin.

I needed this game to get excited about this season.

I'm going to have to amend my 0-16 preseason prediction, I think.

Just a bit :)

The biggest surprise on the game was the running game on a whole. Forte was awesome but the O Line was making nice blocks and executing the plays as well. Just hope they can continue to do so because Orton is gonna need all the time he can get if he thinks he can pass.

I was surprised and pleased by how well the O-line played last night. I was expecting them to wear down in the 2nd half but they didn't and were still controlling the line of scrimmage even in obvious run situations. It also helped that both Frote and Jones were much quicker to the hole than Benson ever was.

While I thought this was one of Turner's better play calling efforts, I'm still not sure whether he trusts Orton to pass on 3rd and long.

Certainly looking a lot more like a 1-15 season after last night.

Forte looked pretty darn good last night, except for that one play where my buddy nearly killed him

Yeah your buddy got a good look at Forte's ass on the 51 yard td too.

Leading with the helmet will do that.

Yea cheap shotting with helmets has a tendency to knock people out of the game for a play or 2.

I was wrong about Forte. I thought he looked to be a Benson clone with his running style but I was wrong. He looked better than Benson yesterday. I would've liked to see Orton throw more passes but he looked ok and did a good job managing the game. He had 2 passes that I saw that looked great. I think one was to Olsen. The biggest surprise of the game though goes to the Indy line. Considering they had rookies and undrafted players at the C and both G positions I thought they did an excellent job stopping the blitz and for the most part protecting Manning.

I'm almost positive I saw Briggs and Mike Brown have similar plays.

They did, but I saw an awful lot of holding that wasn't called. The best thing the Bears did was move their linebackers in and out of formations to confuse Manning. He wound up dumping off short most of the game.

The Bears ran straight cover-2 very little yesterday. It was good to see. Babich/Lovie's defensive game plan was very solid.

I'm almost positive I've seen the vast majority of NFL players do that for the past 34 years (I didn't watch much football before I was born). and it wasn't a cheap shot

I was driving back from Cincy during the game, so I watched this on Tivo.

Awesome.

Makes me look at today as a good day... knocked a game off the magic number and the Bears suddenly have decent a shot at a 3-0 start (not to get ahead of ourselves... just saying... one game, especially one that was inked in as a loss, makes a big difference)...

Anyway, Forte looked really good. Wow. I liked Marcus Harrison a lot. I don't have much in depth to say...but Mike Brown plays and our run defense looks dominant again, what a surprise...

Orton looked decent enough. Still not a fan of his long windup (or the neck-beard, for that matter), but he played fairly well. Maybe the offensive line will wind up looking a little better if Williams manages to come back in a couple months.

Marcus Harrison looked REALLY good. There was a play or two where he just blew up the line.

whoever cleaned Addai's clock lead with the helmet, didn't they?

Forget just Benson, how about A-Train, Enis and Salaam before him. Better vision, good burst. As raw said, Forte doesn't need a hole, he needs a seam.

I hope Williams can come back this season and replace JSC.

probably helps that he wasn't a training camp hold out like those guys were

John St. Clair needs to stop playing football.

I thought he did alright considering who he had to protect against all night (Freeney).

Don't look now, but BigbadB is still alive in the suicide pool. And it's getting awful lonely after week 1. Too bad New England won, or it would have been a really great day to have picked the Bears. Of course, all these Charger fans here in San Diego are pouting and looking for a new suicide pool.

Awesome game. Great D. I think we found our running back. I was impressed with Orton's poise.
