USF and UCF are in OT. Another top notch performance from the Big East.

seriously, who is the best team in the big east? that's definitely going to be the tallest midget.

It is down right now but the difference with the BE and the other BCS conferences is that a BE team will travel to a non BCS team while the others will not. WVU lost at ECU, USF went to UCF and won in OT in an emotional end of a series game.

texas went to utep, minnesota went to bowling green, aTm went to new mexico, arkansas went to la-monroe, maryland went to middle tennessee st., texas tech went to nevada. that's 3 big east teams, 1 sec team, 1 big ten team and 1 acc team.

last week va tech, mississippi st and boston college did it. next week ucla, arizona and wisconsin are doing it.

so i'd say that whatever point you were trying to make isn't a good one.

My point is EVERY BE team does it. Let me know when OSU, Penn St, Michigan, LSU, USC, Georgia do and it isn't on a neutral field.

How about this year and next when OSU is playing USC on a home and home. How about OSU doing it a few years ago with Texas? I challenge you to find an OOC game for an upper echelon Big East that was just as difficult as that.

Just stopping by to pimp my pirates. I think everybody around here was expecting them to be better, but not this good. This is the most fun I've had since I came here 7 years ago... :-))

They should be favored in every game from here out. I doubt they run the table, but I could really see 12-1 or 11-2 and a major bowl bid.

They had a nice team last year and I knew WVU would have a tough time with them, congrats and keep on winning!

Thanks! It looks like Terry Holland extended Skip just in time. I would think he could have cashed in on some serious money after this year.

I don't know how you can knock OSU for this. They schedule 3 complete puffs every year, but they also schedule 1 big game - Texas a couple years ago, USC this and next year. PSU, Michigan, MSU, and Purdue play ND out of conference almost every year - not a tough game last year, but ask them how they liked it in 05/06.

I don't think your argument holds any water here at all, actually.

If he keeps it up for another year, some big program will buy him out soon, unless Skip really doesn't want to leave yet.

Correction: PSU stopped playing ND in 92, played them the last two years and now aren't playing them for the foreseeable future. Their lost win, I guess.

I though this and this were pretty interesting.

Seven ACC, three Big 10, two Pac-10 and one Big East in the most BCS teams played while five SEC, three Big 12, one Pac-10 and one Big 10 team in the least BCS teams played list.

Obviously the major flaw is that it only separates the BCS teams from non-BCS teams and doesn't consider the quality of opponent (i.e. in this playing Ohio State is the same as playing Minnesota), but it's interesting nonetheless.

Arizona State is better than last year.

How's the offensive line? That was my big question mark for them.

I wasn't trying to be exact - PSU doesn't play ND with the frequency of MSU, Purdue, and UM. But they've played a major program on the road recently, that's the point. I don't know if PSU is playing other major programs in the near future, I don't keep up on the future schedules of teams other than ND.

I'm not sure that playing a non-BCS school is necessarily good for your SOS.

So, any schools have two wins against BCS schools besides East Carolina and Northwestern? :)

since someone asked, PSU has a home and home with Syracuse (08/09), Alabama (10/11) and Virginia (12/13) scheduled right now

other than that, it's the same pathetic OOC for the near future (Temple, E. Illinois and E. Michigan next year, Youngstown St., Kent St. and Temple in 2010)

Didn't Cincy just go to Oklahoma?

Did you actually read what I wrote? These teams do not go to a Mid-Major place and play there, unless you consider USC and Texas Mid-Majors.

Oh, I mis-read it. I thought you were talking about traveling to tough opponents. I don't much care who travels to mid majors, I care more about overall strength of schedule and playing tough opponents out of conference when you have several weak ones in your conference.

Sorry I was a little sarcastic in my post. It's hard to go to one of those places when they have a good team, I wonder how the OSU/Ohio game might have turned out if it were at Ohio U. I admire Wisconsin for going to Fresno and I never like how they schedule. Also, when big schools play them...like a Texas, they demand more tickets to be available or it's no deal. I agree playing the BCS schools helps more and the bigger the name, the better.

I'm more impressed when a 6-7, 250 lb white boy does it

Was he running in cement?

ETA: this one was better. And it fulfilled a promise to a boy on his death bed.
