I hate when the fall semester starts and I miss Cubs games.

If the Cubs go to the WS, I'm skipping classes and work for a week no matter the consequences.

If the Cubs go to the WS, I am skipping classes, taking off work and flying 1200 miles just to stand outside Wrigley so I can feel closer to it.

Yep. If the WS is on the north side this year, I'll be standing out on Waveland for the games.

Definitely. I'll basically camp down there for the series.

i've been watching that home run over and over and over again. the best part of it was watching the old man in green standing in the front row behind the backstop and the utter joy that he elicited as he hopped up against the netting with this huge childlike grin on his face.

we need to win for guys like him.

I went back and looked at this. There's just something about it. I'm with you, I want this team to do it for the thousands of fans like this guy. They deserve it.

That guy is part of a group that is/was trying to buy the Cubs.

I got to watch the game at a bar, but the Aram homer is so much better with sound. :D

What an awesome 8th inning.

You might just have to drop out of school and quit your job if they win.

If anyone has Gameday Audio, the big moment begins around 3:13:15. Rons reaction is fun to say the least.

Someone needs to post this.

Anybody got a clip of Ron having a coronary? (radio call of GS)

Soon as the Gameday Audio feed gets archived. Promise.

I'm not saying anything, I'm just saying...

ETA - ninja'd. Well played, sir.

That's the idea. I'm not much for parties, but that one is going to be epic.

you always know what it's going to be, but it just never gets old

I was a fan of Pat's "Durbin, tough to homer against - he's only allowed 2 all year."

Great win and all, but the umps blew a balk call in the 8th inning. JC Romero legs flinch before he made his turn to pick off Reed. I know this point is moot now, but what happens if the Cubs don't take the lead that inning, that non-balk would have pissed off some people on this board.

I love Ron's "Oh Patrick, can you believe it?"

At this point, I say forget Obama, forget McCain, vote ARAMIS for President! Bat flips we can believe in.

Actually, ARam is going to be announced as McCain's VP tomorrow and Aramis just gave him a little extra momentum going into it.

Normally I don't really like Len's home run calls. I love him as an announcer at everything else, he just seems....weird...when he calls a home run.

But his call on Aramis's granny was awesome.

More of that, less of:

"and it will...

...

...

...

GET OUT!!"

That whole scene will stay with me for a while.... Aramis cranking it/flipping the bat, the crowd erupting almost immediately, Len going nuts on the call, and the just continuous jubilation by the crowd.

It's a 10.0 on the Aramis bat-flip-o-meter, vaulting it ahead of the 6/20 walkoff homer off Scott Linebrink and the 7/11 three-run bomb against the Giants.
